Echmer in ESO

Hey, I was reading this link on UESP (http://en.uesp.net/wiki/General:Uutak_Mythos) and I thought it was pretty interesting and cool, especially the easter egg parts. Would anyone be interested in seeing a bat-esque costume or armor/weapon motif being introduced into ESO so we could roleplay as Echmer in the setting? Maybe a couple of references and such hinting at their existence? That would be awesome. ZOS devs, what do you think?

I douhbt the people at ZOS would want to deal with the copyright and intellectual property legal mess of using "community created" lore to base stuff on. So... nope.

Not to mention, bat-elves make less sense then D&D Avariel... especially when the "giant bat" shtick is more associated with vampires anyhow...

Now, Yneslea is a different story, since the only thing we know aboput it is that its some islands between tamriel and akavir, and that Uriel Septium will eventually conquer them and add them to the new empire for a while five, six centuries or so after ESO, in preperation of his invasion attempt on akavir...
...and considering the akaviri invasion ten years before ESO probably used them as waystations as well, these islands are most likely currently in akaviri hands still, thus a possibility for an "Akaviri-themed" DLC someday... possibly with an "help native resistance fight off the occupying akaviri" theme...

No, Echmer are a fan-creation.

You cant get a motif for something that doesn't exist.

The difference between "fanfiction" and "official" lore?
The one who wrote the latter paid for the license!
Since ZOS does indeed hold the license... all they do is "canon" as far as lore goes. Until and unless the original licenseholder says otherwise, and so far I have not heard anything of the sort...

@TheShadowScout ZOS doesn't licence the IP, ZOS is wholly owned by Zenimax.

Zenimax owns the IP.

And it's all Fanfiction because both ZOS and BGS only care what the Lore is until they want to recon it, they have every right to not care about their own lore, and I have every right to disagree with their view on the subject.

Caring about the lore does not make a difference between fanfiction and canon.
Paying for the license does.

Anyone can disagree with anything - just look up all the "Han Solo shot first" arguments all over the past. (And yes, he DID! ) But the official word comes with the official licenseholder, and those who "rent" the license by paying for it.

And yes, sometimes something from a licensed product is discarded by the licenseholder later on (cough, expanded universe, cough).
But until and unless that happens, it IS "official", and not "fanfiction" no matter what the fans think. (even in those cases where the fans have an obviously better idea - not that this is the case here )

Not only community stuff has made it into the games time and again, like mojo said, it's not like we don't have a ton of "easter-egg" like items and references in the game already.

lmao are you serious? Have you seen some of the stupid stuff that is actually in the game? An Echmer themed (even if loosely) costume or item would at least be visually interesting, and a very niche reference that it won't even bother all you people that get bothered by this stuff.

Echmer are cool. I'd like to see zos bringing back some of the interaction community and company lore used to have.

Id have absolutely no problem with that forming the basis for a DLC.

However, at its root its another Mer race... I think ESO would benefit from a new race that is not Man or Mer, beyond this we only have Khajiit and Argonian and I think it is high time we had something new.
