Since Morrowind - frequent 303 errors trying to load characters

Starting to become silly - since the new stuff has been dropped about 75% of my attempts to load a character end in a 303 error after about 90 secs.

Clearly something has changed since the patch (seems to impact my older characters a lot more than the newer so maybe some reduction in time allowed to load dbase?).

Anyway it's a right pain and I've done the usual nonsense... rebooted pc, router, removed addons etc.

Just me or is this a wider problem?

OK. Make that 2 mins 15 seconds from pressing the character 'Play' until being kicked back to logon screen.

If I load it comes in at somewhere just under 2 minutes.

Is there some sort of load time out after that length of time? Is it possible the new load items added in MW might push older characters that have done a lot and own a lot beyond that limit sometimes?

Still happening all the damn time and am on my 5th attempt to load a character tonight so far - this is so pathetic.

This is yet another new problem with the Morrowind launch.

New characters load with no problem, this is specific to old characters which suggests it's to do with the amount of data that needs loading?

I have bug reported in game and have logged a ticket on this but basically if I can't reliably play my main character then I can't imagine I'll be sticking around to pay my sub and buy crowns...

I'm on right now after about 9 attempts - but this has been going on for a couple of weeks

Interesting. I assumed it was the NA servers as I was just reading about them. I haven't had any login issues with the PC EU server in the past couple of weeks (or ever really, if I'm honest). I was on an hour or two ago, will try again. Are you playing through Steam? That seems to be a common issue at the moment.

UPDATE: No login issue, went straight in from a direct ESO launch icon. Perhaps it is a Steam issue.

No, I don't use steam. It's not really the login in tyhat is the problem, I can get to the character screen - it just seems that if I try to load my oldest characters they time out on loading and I get a 303 error and kicked back to logon. If I load my new Warden, for example, no problems.

Just speculating that with all the time played, quests and achieves done, multiple houses, mounts, costumes and so on whether the character dbase on an old character is just getting to the point where in extreme cases it triggers some time out threshold.

This is getting disturbing as I am now in 'discussion' with a support person who tells me I need to revert to Direct X 9 as ESO does not support Direct X 11....

Please could someone tell me I am not going crazy and that ESO announced that DX9 was phased out about a year or more ago?
