Morrowind Tutorial: Clothing prior to ship crashing?

For new characters created for Morrowind, do they wear the casual/traveling clothing of whatever race they are at the very beginning of the tutorial (just before the ship crashes)?

I created an Imperial Warden for the expansion and noticed that he was wearing what (at least to me) looked like casual/traveling Imperial clothing. Does the pre-crash clothing vary depending on what race your new character is?

If so, then it's a pretty neat touch. :)

My bosmer was wearing the graht-climber miniskirt thing, so it's definitely possible. There are a lot of races for which we don't have cultural costumes yet, though, so I'd be curious about what those characters are wearing.

Indeed. Thanks for the info. :)

If memory serves me right, my Imperial Warden wore what appeared to be the Imperial City Temple Tunic, even right down to the sandals.

    Only before the ship crashing.

Once your character wakes up in the cell, he/she is instead wearing tattered slave clothes. :(

Apparently some slaver dunmer ladies had their way with me before tossing me in a cell...

...at least I hope they were ladies...

...Is Bubba a girls name? I'm asking for a friend.

So, that would be Nord (both genders), Khajiit (both genders), Altmer (male), and Bosmer (male).

Female Altmer have costumes that have been datamined. Same with Dunmer of both genders.

Dunmer clothing is in the game. Vvardenfell is full of it. Can you link to wherever you've seen datamined altmer outfits? I'd love to see what it looks like.

I can't find it right now. :\ I mean, I checked the thread I was thinking of, and no dice. You can see the outfits on NPCs on Vvardenfell. I'll roll up an Altmer on the PTS and post the results. Give me a minute.

If the female altmer dress is in the tutorial, shouldn't the male altmer have an outfit? What do the Khajiit, Nords, and male Altmer/Bosmer wear on the ship?

Poor Nords got the short end of the costume stick :'(

There are some Altmer in Vulkel Guard's Bank (along with Estre in an awful yellow one when she appears at the end of the VG quest-not sure which patch changed this) wearing the dress further up the thread. So Altmer costumes incoming soon?

Though I didn't think to capture a screenshot during the actual pre-shipwreck scene :(, this is indeed what my Imperial Warden was wearing during the trip:

Which begs the question: what did the slavers do with your traveling clothes after they found you? :o

Though to be fair, it didn't occur to me to wonder what both genders of each race wear. For example, I doubt that an Imperial female would wear the same thing in the pre-shipwreck scene that my Imperial male did. :)

Yes, it is racially based. I was going to give ZoS bonus points for attention-to-detail, but then I had to immediately take those points away when my starting boat-travelling gear said "Slave Clothes" and whatnot. So apparently I'm a "slave" before I even get captured by slavers? Wut?

Hang on - are you saying you opened your inventory and you had an item equipped while you were sitting there? Could you remove it?
