Hi,

still not sure if I want to buy the expansion.

Can anyone tell me how good the quests are? Is it all the same "Go to A, press E, go to B, press E, go to C, press E" Repeat.

Or does it have more interaction and you actually need to do something?

Thanks!

What more do you expect?? They ofc. work the same way as in the rest of the game.
The quests are about the story. And personally, I think they are very good. In general, the quest lines feel longer than before and have more depth. And I really like that. :)

I think they are good. Have only done balmora one so far and part of the main quest and atleast ending in balmora had a choice.

Only problem is that it's to easy only overworld content that you have a chance to die at is worldbosses.

The quests are great I'd say. Stories are awesome and actually have some unexpected plot twists, dialogues actually offer you meaningful choices that have consequences, and I think they really did try to make it a little bit less of "go to point A, pick up thing 1, come back to me" thing. I mean it's still there but there're some achievements/quests requiring you to find stuff not marked on map whatsoever, there're a lot of sneaky quests (featuring hiding baskets a la TG too. You can kill npcs instead of hiding in most of them, but in some instances it will actually have consequences. I might not be a fan of sneaking but it's...different. It's good to see them try to bring some variety).

Voicing is absolutely amazing, I'm actually waiting for some npcs to finish speaking all the way because it's just so cool(Ashnur <3 *drools*) Music is gorgeous. Oh and new high res textures everywhere are making me super happy too.

I'm barely 1/4 of the map done so far and I'm loving it:) Just don't count on working Battlegrounds or OP Warden and you'll be fine.

Even less reasons to buy this chapter now, rather wait for the price dropping rapidly in next few months.
Good that still so many quests awaits to do in normal game.

Awful writing. Mediocre voice acting. Slightly modified fetch quests.
Just typical mmo quests. If you expected something groundbreaking, you are playing the wrong game.

I enjoy the stories and quests yea they are similar to other parts of the games but they are also a little different in that they have you use a lot of things, I do not want to elaborate as not to give out any spoilers. If you enjoy the pve aspect of the game I recommend it, if your looking for something completely different and game changing then maybe not so much.

I completed the Clockwork City quest last night. Visually it was beautiful. Really stunning. But the quest itself was pretty much the same type of thing found throughout the game. Final boss was semi-hard, but then I'm one who likes things fairly easy in a game. So it was perfectly fine for me.

The Secret World didn't for all of it's quests, it had 3 or 4 different types, some were just go to the x and kill something, x somthing or get object or x objects, but they had a type of mission called an investigation, there were no markers, usually you had to find something hidden on the map or on an interactive object on the map or a combination for some locked object, and to do this not only did you have to use clues inside the game but you also had to use external tools including web pages (some created by funcom), decoding systems you might need to research to understand then actually decode, and other resources. A lot of them were pretty hard and many players skipped them because of it.

Also, the original Morrowind journal system relied on you reading and looking in areas that were not marked on the map but indicated in relation to places on your map, like "look on the east side of the road half-way between Balmora and Caldera". I think with ESO they wanted to make it so that paying attention was optional, you can still use some clues in the dialog but I've noticed a lot of times their descriptions are inaccurate, maybe their dialog was written before the world designers finished.

I am not sure what you consider to be interaction and needing to do something.

There are plenty of "Go to A, press E, go to B, press E" type of quests.

There is one path to every quest I have done, so far, as is typical for this type of game. Quests are linear, but the ones that I have done allow me to complete "peer" tasks in any order, rather than having to do them in a specific order determined arbitrarily by the devs. That means that location "B" can be done before location "A", when A, and B need to be done.

Vvardenfell is a big place. Expect to travel. They run the player around, and not all of the locations are conveniently located immediately next to a wayshrine. Everywhere in Vvardenfell is near a wayshrine, thought, so it is not necessary to "pack a lunch".

There are quests that require that boss-type monsters be killed, and quests that do not. The main story is a mix of both.

There are puzzles that need to be solved. Nothing that cannot be solved by someone paying attention. After watching people at one of them, lots of people don't pay attention. If puzzles are your thing, they will be too easy. If puzzles are not your thing, you will be annoyed.

The stories vary from predictable to unexpected. Writing matches the rest of the game, so if you like that, you will not be disappointed.

I havent finished all quests so far, but I really like the story.
People have been criticizing this dlc (yeah, dlc, I dont get all this "chapter" fuss... Its just a cash grab imo) for being "too short"... To be honest, I'm not so sure about this. Of course, if you just mindlessly run from one quest marker to another it will be kinda short, but if you prefer to take your time, read dialogues, etc, it takes a while. (Just in case... I dont support the "chapter" idea, imo it should've been a regular dlc)
So far I finished the "main" questline and a couple of optional stories (Balmora and Sadrith Mora) and I gotta say that those "optional" stories seem to be longer and much more elaborate than your typical ESO quests. Level design is also pretty good.
On the downside, the early release seems to be rushed (probably because of all this bad PR caused by drastic nerfs and closed testing) and some things seem kinda.. unfinished. For example, there's a lot of unaccessible buildings and even some of the major areas (Sheogorad and Red Mountain region) are not available. Not sure if theyre going to fix this, I really hope so.

Obviously they're still quite MMO-ish, but as far as MMO quests go they're actually really interesting and engaging. I actually found myself having empathy for certain characters which I can't say I feel a lot in most other MMO's. So yeah they're pretty awesome imo :)

Quests are pretty good, they are long, this probably explains the low number, this also reduce the xp / hour for questing.
Add that its more players than enemies so you don't get the xp from kills you do in other zones.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Like, instead of using everything, you need to do something with it. E.g. moving around traps, avoiding areas. Or shooting at stuff that is not a monster, but like hitting a hidden switch behind a door with a ranged weapon. Or kiting an enemy boss to run into a pillar that then crumbles and opens a hole in the roof, as half of the room collapses.
Or having to use siege equipment from PvP to crush a gate to get into a castle.

I mean, just new things. Just something that feels a bit different from the standard formula.

That being said, thanks for the replies. Gives me a bit of a picture.

Well the side quest I am playing involves a lot of stealing and murdering so I guess an existing thief character would be good for that.

Other than that its meh at best (up to the point I played)

The side quests are much more engaging than the main questline to be perfectly honest. I decided to do the main stuff on my magsorc (dunmer) and I've been doing the side quests (ignoring main) on my stamblade. I'd recommend either taking a new toon through the tutorial, or an existing toon who's done the Caswell's quests. Interacting with certain characters affects the dialogue in certain ways.

The costumes and Warden class, plus all body/face markings, dwemer sentry pet, momentos, and the REALLY nice furniture designs you can loot. I would say it's a little overpriced (double what I paid for the base game) but not so much so that I regret buying it

I absolutely loved the main quest, Gnisis quests are wonderful and so fun, also Suran. I didn't like the Telvanni quests, they were tedious and the fact that you can't almost never defend the slaves made it a lot worse.

Questing in Vvardenfell is about the only good thing with this new content. BGs are broken and often unbalanced teams when you do finally get in.

They work similar as the other quests in the game.

In my opinion I think they are really good only if you actually read them and take the time to get to know the characters etc. I just finished a quest about the Redoran family in Balmrora and I loved the twist and how all the pieces were put together.

I enjoyed the quests very much but , there are some that feel too short and others that end up taking a long time due to all the travelling around. My hope is that since this is an expansion (Chapter? Big DLC?) , Zos will add more quests , even if it's new dailies , for us to keep coming back to Morrowind.

I was really disappointed to see BGS don't work, I don't like questing I find it boring. Me and my partner decided to hang up the mouse and PC chairs for controllers and sofa to do morrowind. We were very impressed, we had so much fun it was very unexpected. Getting up early again tomorrow to finish off.

So far its been like going home too me. Morrowind was my first Scrolls game, they've don't a very good job walking the line between past and present (single player games timeline vs this game).
