I want to look at some of the changes to CP and see if I am understanding how this would work.
In the red tree we have the defensives Ironclad, Thickskinned, Hardy, and Elemental Defender.
Ironclad reduces all direct damage hits and Thickskinned reduces all damage over time hits.
Hardy reduces poison, physical, etc. types of damage. Elemental Defender reduces fire, ice, etc. types of damage.
Do any damage types slip through Ironclad or Thickskinned that Hardy or E.D. would reduce?
I am thinking not and if this is true it would now make more sense to put 40 points each into Ironclad and Thickskinned achieving 16% reduction then supplementing with Hardy and E.D.
Going from 40 points to 41 you get a .3% increase of protection vs direct damage and dots via Ironclad and Thickskinned, which is what you get for the 1st point spent in Hardy and E.D.
Am I understanding this correctly or is there damage the old faithfuls defend against that I.C. and T.S. do not?
The same can be said when viewing the blue tree and looking at Master-at-Arms/Thaumaturge vs. Elemental Expert and Mighty for add damage bonuses.
Thoughts?
