Stam DK DPS after morrowind live

Invoky

So sad that pre-Morrowind my Stam DK can do 33k, now I can barely do 25k. I run out resource half way-can't even finish the fight unless I spam heavy attack. On the other hand my Sorc alt, which doesn't even have a vma weapon, is pulling 31k. All I had to do was swapping out BSW for julianos and do lighting blockage+elemental drain.

I am still running Velidreth+3 VO jewlery+TFS. I know I could add 2 more piece VO for 8% reduction but losing either VMA weapons or Velidreth will be painful. With drink+potion I have 1400 recovery and still is not enough. Rapid strike cost almost 2k and we have spam it 3 times in 1 rotation just to buff the other dots. Rearming trap and Caltrop both are 3k, and then Helping Hand is completely worthless now.

I am really not sure how to sustain at this point. Sure I could use full VO and lose vma weapon/monster set, or use something like bone pirate, or do more heavy attack. But all of those options are dps lose compare to pre-Morrowind. While magicka dps they still have elemental drain.

I'm a console player so I don't know exactly how it's going to effect my DK stamina, but atm I'm running velidreth set with 5 pieces of spriggans and 5 pieces of VO. I'm hoping this will work out. I currently don't have vma weapons so I do what I have to do. I have 5 pieces of TFS but without VO daggers I'm not running it atm. Right now it's a great set up but we shall see after Morrowind comes out on console.

I just ditched my vma axe/dagger to running 5 vo 5 tfs 2 velidreth. I was able to do 34k with awkward rotation...

So vma DW weapon useless now?

Plenty parses doing the rounds of people doing 35k to 40k
You just have to change and adapt welcome to mmos

I have seen some parses but none of them keep their vma weapons. If you seen one please link me the build.
I have played many MMO and ESO has to be the one with the most dramatic changes after each patch.

no, this is nowhere near as dramatic as the recent ability pruning in wow legion, or the NGE in SWG, or any number of other mmorpgs.

the problem was created when they removed soft caps. at launch we HAD TO HEAVY ATTACK. now we have to again. feels natural to me AND more in line with an elder scrolls game.

    use 5 piece VO

it is not a DPS loss, you running out of recources all the time is a DPS loss

Seen a few that used vma weaps but with all the cost increases its not as efficient to run a spam skill like rapids which is why most are using lights or heavy as the "spammable"

    More in line with what?
As far as I remember from the Elder Scrolls Series sword (heavy) attacks cost stamina instead of restoring it and there were never staff heavy attacks to restore magicka.
I also remember no magicka regeneration in Morrowind besides drinking potions or sleeping/resting.

Well, now actually I can see that there was some logic to ruining our sustain. The devs wanted to give us the original Morrowind experience ...

    It wasn't stam, but fatigue
Sarcasm is something too serious to be taken lightly

I was born with the wrong sign
    In the wrong house
    With the wrong ascendancy
    I took the wrong road
That led to the wrong tendencies
I was in the wrong place at the wrong time
For the wrong reason and the wrong rhyme
On the wrong day of the wrong week
Used the wrong method with the wrong technique

Havent tested DK although im sure the damage is on par, but my so4c has zero sustain issues and can do 36k+ o a target dummy with no exterbal buffs (no puncture)...45-59k ST ez:)
