stam blade is terrible for PVE

we need self heal, better survivability , better skills for solo PVE and questing, because the option of "go do PVP for 5 hours and acquire vigor" isn't a solution here, can you give us a heal that doesnt suck?

It takes less than 2 hours of casual PVP.

My Bosmer stam NB does just fine in all PvE content including normal trials. Probably not Vet MAW HM though, oh well.

Drop rending slashes and use Blood craze. Use deadly cloak for a whopping 25% damage reduction. You don't have to heal if you never took any damage. Stop whining and get vigor but use sparingly.

This, you cloak and kill and run, that is a stamblade or magblade gameplay, I really wish people would understand that, I mean there is a stun from stealth on your spammable, ie suprise attack, use it, cloak move in, hit them with SA and they are down for 3 seconds, if you can't put out 10k dps in that time, you are nightblading wrong.

Also I would like to point out people like you are why they gutted syphoning/leeching strikes, now it does give you a heal, if you light attack, so try it.

No it isn't. For overland content, while leveling, it's actually pretty easy. Mobs die in 1-2 hits anyway and you are at full health again after you execute them with killer blade. For more serious content like harder vet dungeons and vet trials basically any stamina class needs vigor in some situations. 100K AP needed for vigor can be gotten on 2-3 hours on a more populated campaign. Until you get that simply stay close to the group and keep rally up.

this is because of your CP. assume this player has no CP. It takes longer to kill enemies without CP.

On another note, mobs are easier now then they were at the start of the game. As a nightblade then, solo-ing stuff was extremely difficult if you didn't know what you were doing. It took me a while to figure out how to play my stamblade with so few stam class morph options.

For overland PvE, go for a two hander build. Rally heals, and you can kill just about anything with one round of Ambush->Shadowy Disguise -> Onslaught. Brawler probably doesn't kill as fast as the dual wield AOE alternative, but the damage shield makes it difficult to die.

Surviving against a big group of mobs isn't so hard after levelling a few skills. NBs could go with leeching strikes for a heal, or use a 2-hand weapon rally for a big heal. I recommend going with 2-hand, it's the most undervalued tool for stamina builds. Nightblades don't need Steel Tornado or Rapid Strikes.

Use power extraction for a big 8 meter radius AOE burst damage. Surprise attack for a big single target burst/debuff that's on par or better than Rapid. Brawler gives a big shield and 7 meter AOE cone damage + DOT, reverse slice for a 5 meter AOE, the single biggest AOE burst damage possible when you target a low health mob. 2-hand heavy attack is better than dual-wield whirlwind.

I am also 2h/Bow I have two overworld PVE engages.

    2H
    Ambush, Brawler, Executioner
Every thing goes down pretty fast with that. They buffed brawler and executioner.

    or with bow.
Grim focus, leeching strikes. Endless hail. light attacks and kiting trying to trigger the focus bow as much as possible. Light attacks and focus tree got a buff with the latest update as well.

I happen to also have Caltrops and Vigor from PVP but Rally is a very powerful buff and heal ability it is more than good enough.

Supprise attack is also very strong, it both reduces the enemies defence and increases yours from the shadow passives. It is typically the nightblades spammable and replaces the Dual wield spamable. If you are not already useing it you should be.

I play pure bow and I play my way. I don't DW or 2H melee. And I still die because shadowy disguise just doesn't stick. Casting it repeatedly in 3 secs because I constantly pop out of it isn't helping. Stealth+Focused Aim at times does not crit. I think with all points into stamina I should be doing like 40k crit easily with the gear I got and none of the gear I have is from raiding or trials...

Trick is to simply don't care about the misery. Just shrug it of when you die for the hundredth time. You're not there to become emperor, you're just there for vigor. Follow the masses and be present when they capture thingies.

    Nights Silence/Night Mothers.

    Dual Wield

Run from stealth wherever possible. Have CP set up to reduce stamina loss in stealth.

Ambush > Flying Blade > Bloodthirst (will heal as it goes along...its the Stam NB's answer to the templars Puncturing sweeps).

Run blue food to boost stam/health.

Just got back onto my stam blade after not playing her for ~6 months, and realised she is so OP in openworld questing and public dungeons that its almost hilarious.

She also has 3 marksmans jewellery, which gives her excellent stam recovery.

Last I checked the best ever scores of VMA were with a stam blade.

The ultimate solo PVE challenge in the game, or last I checked.

    Edit:

I am not saying stam blades rock the *** out trials but for solo PVE they are quite strong made stronger by the champion point changes and 2 H changes.

Also count in the StamBlade only sucks because its the hardest class to play in the game now, but it has the best burst ST damage in the game if you can play it, even now with all these nerfs.

Lol OP. I do 47.6k avg in .67s So first target is dead right then right there. Drop arrows, go back to melee bar and burn down herds of enemies. Even with me not playing "meta" on my dunmer vampire NB or being uber geared I tear thru mobs like a finger thru wet toilet paper. Not gonna say "git gud" but perhaps play a NB as a NB not a Stamplar or DK

I don't think that is good advice. Going hybrid might increase your survival but you lose so much in return. Stam blades just plays differently from other Stam classes. You don't spread yourself too much, you focus fire down the best target to hit. Divide and Conquer. Use your class skills to complement the weapons you are using.

There is reaper's mark, heals you for 60% of heal when target dies and grants you major berserk. There's killers blade, heals you for 35% of health. All you need is to focus fire a target. You also have Mirage, gives major evasion. The more enemies, the more times it procs. Ambush, surprise attack, crit cloak, rapid strikes, killer's blade. On a marked target. Mirage, ambush, steel tornado, killer's blade on a marked target between the group.

I would agree with you last patch, but in Morrowind all classes (except Magicka Warden) can compete.

As for Vigor.... the amount of time you've spent writing up, constantly checking and responding to this thread has probably been enough to have grinded it out already.

Just go gank some people and get your Vigor so you can be happy  As a Stam NB that's what you do best anyway.
