If I get Morrowind now on PC can I start playing it right away? If so what edition should I get?

So if I pre-order Morrowind on PC today will I be able to start playing today or tomorrow (depending on how long the download is.) I can't remember if people can only play Morrowind now if they pre ordered already or is it still available for others to do so now. If so, I am just curious what edition should I get. I had a rough week and would love to relive some nostalgia in Morrowind right now and not sure what edition gives what and what I miss out on since I am not familiar with a lot of the bonuses given.

*edit*

Want to make sure, I almost got the $100+ version. Should I be looking at the upgrade version instead?

I believe you need a collectors edition or digital collectors edition in order to take part in early access which is currently going on.

If you buy the standard game you'll be given access on June 6th.

Either of the digital upgrade editions should let you in straight away as soon as your transaction is complete. Both normal upgrade and ce upgrade players are in right now.

Here's a link to the article about early access: It clearly states that "digital upgrade" versions grant early access - it specifically mentions both normal and CE digital upgrades. This should happen immediately that your transaction goes through, given that early access has now started.

Physical CE also does but you have to fill in a form with proof of purchase from the retailer, so I can see the possibilities for delay there.

For what it's worth, if your client is patched up and able to play ESO right now, you don't need a patch. All of the Morrowind data was included in the 5/22 patch. All that's left is getting access. The one major caveat is: I'm not sure what's going on with the Steam version of the game.

Thanks starkerealm. I don't have it on Steam so then hopefully I will have no issues or waiting time when I get it.
