NMG vs Spriggans

Hello all,

I am currently trying to figure out which set is better, NMG or Spriggans. As it stands, running a VO, NMG, and Kra'ghs/Velidreth set on a stam sorc I am able to get ~30-33.8k DPS on a target dummy. I am wondering if swapping NMG for Spriggans would be an overall damage boost for me. Obviously, if I had TFS I would wear that, but sadly back in the day I didn't see the use for it and thought it was crowding up bank space so I sold all my divines pieces of it (Slowly dying inside). If anyone could lend some insight I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, currently at cp 530, if that matters at all.

nmg gives that extra crit which is important, in a trial situation it's most likely the case that it will be over penetration plus nmg boosts other stamina dps which is amazing. I'd wear spriggans for 4man dungeons and solo.

Edit: 34k is the ideal mark you'd get on a skelly with that setup, nice one. I believe spriggans would increase your skelly time but like I said in a trial situation nmg is just better if you're the designated person to use.

Spriggan's is likely to give you better results on a target dummy, though I think it'll be close. If you're running in a group NMG will increase damage for all stam DPS, but 2 players wearing NMG will not stack.

There is a good chance I wont be the only person running NMG tho. Also is there any set besides spriggans I could use to see a huge DPS boost?

TBS is still good only a couple percent lower compared to TFS but you need 5 body at all times, so 3vo/5tbs/vma/2kragh would be the only real strong setup. I'd run hundings over spriggans in a trial situation personally..mainly for the crit bonuses. That is trial situations only, I remember seeing a very thorough test and spriggans was basically pulling the most numbers in 4man/solo situations. Also it doesn't hurt to have an extra 5p set in nmg laying around so if you are the only one; you can just swap real quick.

Edit: Meant to say spriggans would over penetrate in trials on first post not nmg.

How's about now after the sharpened nerf to daggers and changes to max stam and crit chance?

I would assume spriggans to outperform since it has higher penetration that is consitantly on and nmg needs to proc first and has more wd due to more stamina...

I wish the crafted sets were better...imo nmg penetration - since its only proc - should be on the same level as spriggans

5 spriggan 5 automaton 2 krags. Especially with new nerf to sharpened stam builds NEED as much pen as possible.

Would Sunderflame also be viable? Maybe more of a stam DK set? Would Sunderflame stack or could only one in the group wear it?

Edit: forgot about stam sorcs wearing it.

Run nmg and spriggan with velidret. Try to replace spriggan with 2fs, if you able to get it. But if any other stamplayer is runing nmg, switch to hundings. Nmg works as group debuff for stamplayers

U can replace 2500 penetration easily with 25ish cp tough

I'm running 5x VO and either 5x Spriggan or 5x NMG + Velidreth. The nerf of the Thief Mundus might drop the crit change on Spriggans a tad low and the ability to utilise a nirnhoned dagger with NMG... not sure, will have to wait and see
