Crown Crates

Dear Zos,
I am here to ask can we, the players, please have more cool items for actual purchase with Crowns and less cool items behind the paywall of those scummy little Crown Crates? It seems like the Crown Store offering has deteriorated somewhat of late and the best new offerings are "limited time only" sort of deals with ridiculous pricing. I know there is plenty of cool *** I would gladly buy with Crowns(or hard currency) but I will never(and I mean never ever) buy your pathetic little Crown Crates. Even when you give me a free one for temptations sake(really?). I don't really pretend to speak on behalf of all player here, however I am sure there a a great deal who feel the same. Please Zos let us spend some money. Is that so hard?

im against crown crates , its pure gambling , in the b2play model everything what is put for crowns should be achievable in game to even trough gambling gold for crates
+ drop rates for each kind of item

I'll never buy a Crown Crate because I'm not daft enough to gamble money in the faint hopes of getting shiny pixels.

I wholeheartedly agree. Just let us purchase the things we desire outright.
I'm not paying real money for bad RNG; as a retired oldie, I have to make my funds go the distance.
RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.

I think almost everyone in the community would agree on this because it's more consumer friendly.

Sadly ZOS don't seem to care too much about consumer friendly.

    Many have expressed similar sentiments.

Many of the these sentiments were expressed strongly before the crates were introduced yes.

    Still the crates they came.

The boxes of much horror seem to be something they are unwilling, or unable, to listen to concerns about - even when this costs them what they would have received from these items being purchased in a more direct fashion.

I think a lot of people in the community really dislike crown crates- even if they buy them. I prefer to select the things I buy. Crown crates have given me tons of costumes and hats I would have never purchased. [Also, a guar mount. I would never ride a gaur. Chaffing.]

That said, I'm a big "I spend money on the game, to support it". I want the servers live, so I buy with my sub crowns and sometimes splurge here and there. I can't help but think they'd get more out of me if they didn't do crown crates and just slowly leaked product into the crown store.

I would love to "spend money on the game to support it" but really the sub goes a long way to support that. I also agree 100% that Zos would get more money if they just released seasonal stuff in the Crown Store. I'm already a bit dirty on myself for I just payed real money for a collectors edition of Morrowind to "support" the game even though we all know what Morrowind is.

I'm not sure how often they released new stuff before the crates, but they seem to be releasing non-crate "cool stuff" in a similar manner as before - a new collection of costumes came out recently, and there were two different "special" mounts in the past couple months.

I guess it depends on what you consider "cool stuff".

    re: crates

I suspect, for all the protestations on the forums, that they're bringing in good money. Or at least good enough money to continue doing them. As I mentioned in one of the "high price" threads, I'm sure that the marketing team has graphs of price/availability/sales, and can tell when something isn't making as much money as something else. Since they're interested in profit, I'd think they'd follow that data... i.e, if something isn't making money (or isn't making as much money as something else), they'll stop doing it.

Personally, I haven't bought a crate. But I think I may, either Dwemer crates or the Fall ones.... it all depends on what "returning" costumes show up in the lower-tier rewards. But when those costumes show up, I know I'll succeed - because I'm not interested in the Big Prizes, I just want the removed costumes, and based on the previous two crate series, those tend to be in the 16-gem tier. Which means I can likely get them for just a few crates. And if I get anything else interesting while doing that, well hey - that's just a bonus. /shrug
