Why does Warden bear not taunt?

He didn't on pts and I hoped it would be addressed for live but why does he not taunt? He doesn't just take two bar slots he takes to ULTIMATE bar slots he should at a minimum tank as well as the bloody clannfear given the bears' dps is rather poopy.

Huh? I don't know what you're doing wrong, but my bear maintains aggro sometimes for the entire fight. Especially if you use the "Y" command to send the bear in to battle first and wait a few seconds, then engage the enemy.

just tested again. there is no taunt. he will hold aggro if you do nothing because..duh..you are doing nothing.

on a wb just now sent pet. waited. healed on occaison but nothing more. after 30 seconds boss came after me. i ran around. never attacked or healed at that point, bear still beating on him.

for the next 4 minutes and 30 seconds i did this, never healing or hitting him not even healing myself as i was pretty easily able to just run away from his damage. the bear beating on him. never ONCE drew threat back even though the bear was doing all of the damage in that time.

my sorc's clannfear in the same situation this morning? taunted like a champ.

I always lead off by casting Swarm, the bear taunts the enemy before it gets to me 90% of the time. Don't lead off with a big damage hit, wait until the bear grabs aggro, then you can burn it down.

Clannfear may hold aggro but he has no taunt. It was removed 2 years ago.

i believe this is incorrect. it was changed so the pet can't taunt off an active player tank, but the pet will still pull and hold threat from a sorcerer owner who is tanking and not in melee range

@Dixa The pets used to take agro from a solo sorc, but that was removed in Homestead, though it was never called out in the patch notes and no response has been given on whether this change was intentional or not.

I tried using the "Y" command and I couldn't get it to work at all. :/

I sometimes wonder if the mechanics in ESO are so screwed up that some enemies are aggro'd by pets while others are not for some odd reason. Most of the time if sent in first without doing any damage for approx 5/s the bear will hold aggro on small mobs, sometimes however, sending the bear in will only draw aggro from the targeted enemy, the rest will come after me. The bear seems more reliable in drawing aggro from single targets, but as I've noted before, I believe there is an 'aggro dump' that occurs either when player does too much damage or there is a 'timed' aggro dump, in which the target(s) will suddenly begin attacking the player. I honestly go into a battle fully expecting to be attacked, so when the bear draws aggro it's just an added plus, I certainly don't NEED protection but it's always more fun. It isn't like I'm running with the bear because it's an powerful ability, I'm using the bear because it's cool to have a fighting companion. Being a solo player, I don't have the annoyances of dealing with other player's attitudes or schedule... the bear simply follows along. ;)

I noticed that if I put the bear on something and then only damage it, any adds beating on said bear reset when it dies.

My Warden is only level 22, but from what I can tell, that damn bear doesnt do much of anything. For obvious reasons, I am a little disappointed.

He seems to interrupt and stun mobs quite a bit, which I find awesome.
