Let your friends be on your mount?

I'm not sure if it has been brought up before, it must have because it's a pretty common aspect of MMOs, but I didn't seem to find any recent discussions about it...

So, why isn't this a thing? I don't imagine it would be a hard thing to do and it would add to the fun of the game. Riding together is fun xD
Maybe don't allow it in Cyro or have an option to not let people request you to ride with them, but imo it should be in the game (and not only with eso+)

I don't think mounts in ESO are separate entities. They're just a transformation of the player character model. So in order to do this they would need to develop a way to tether two characters together, and that doesn't sound like a trivial implementation.

I think this is a great idea, put a "Mount with player" option right beside the "Trade with player" option.

Good grief no, I get enough random "trade with player", "group with player", "whisper player" notifications when I am in the bank as it is. If anyone mounted me, I'd go full on rage. Especially if I was still trying to do inventory management (480 bank slots is not as many as it sounds).

I'm always creating new characters and the worse part about it is hopping on a slow mount. It would be so nice to hop a ride with someone during those times.

I'm sure ESO will not allow this because they want players to buy mount speed from the crown store.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of the most while writing the OP. ZOS said something similar to why we won't have capes in ESO for a while, but what I don't get with the capes is that they are very similar to banners. We could get mini banners on our backs and call it a cape; ergo we could have a person teleport on the back of our mounts if requested by us, all we'd need is a new animation or a simple /moveplayer x:69 y:1337. I know it's not that easy or it'd already be here but until I get a confirmation from a dev, I won't give up on the desire to give a ride to lusty argonian maids XD

Hour thoughts are probably onto something. Haven't seen any means for s player to surended control to another player as in /follow.

My mount is my mount. That's why we are in an exclusive relationship; I'm not one of those "alternative lifestyle" people who let every other Tom, *** (lol), and Harry (lol) ride my mount!

Omg yes please I would let my boyfriend ride my horse in cyrodiil cause he has a problem with not training his mounts! I just LOVEEeE riding back 20 meters to give him rapids!

Mounts are easy enough to acquire. Virtually everyone has a mount within an hour of playing. I get that it would be cool, but not needed at all. Just my opinion

Not needed, but as a heavy RPer, I think this would be an awesome option. I have often said in guild chat that I wish this were a thing as my in-game husband and my character "pretend" to be riding together, having the mount actually allow us both to be on it would be awesome.

As to speed concerns, a horse's speed could be slowed by a certain percentage if more than one person were on its back.

I think this would be a disaster in ESO, we already have issues with one person on a mount. (running in place on the saddle, being unable to mount due to stuck in combat glitch, etc..)

I was thinking how this would be a bad idea in Cyrodiil but your comment made me change my mind. Just imagine how awesome TWO people running on one saddle would be! I'm sold.
