Warden From A Magicka Standpoint

As a healer(Green Balance),
  • Fungal Growth - feels weak and seems to miss often leading to dead allies.
  • Healing Seed - feels powerful, however, the morph that allows you to activate the heal early often gets triggered or has a delay on my UI causing me to unintentionally activate it prematurely... Feels clunky?
  • Living Vines - would be useful like healing ward, however, the cast, like for fungal growth, makes it's direction/radius unpredictable and hard to use...
  • Others skills - self buff and the gap closer heal, they're nice, and the ultimate is awesome, as well as it's morphs.

As a dps(Animal Companions),
  • Dive - This is fine, execution is nice.
  • Scorch - This is good, combos well with dive, execution is nice as well.
  • Swarm - Maybe incorrectly labeled? It says cast is instant, but I'm standing there for at least a second only to do mediocre damage. The morph that increases the damage by 50% isn't worth it, as casting it twice takes about 2.5 seconds cumulatively, which again isn't worth the damage over 10 seconds. The morph that makes it spread to new targets, is decent, but it would've been better if the swarm also could stay on the same target for an additional 10 seconds. Skill's damage is just not good.
  • Other skills - self buffs, again nice no complaints here.
  • Ultimate(the bear) - He literally disappears going over a bridge, is slow to react, and I just can't justify using this ult. Damage is good though, when the bear is there...

My idea for improvements,
  • As a healer, make Living Vines cast radius a circle around the caster, Fungal Growth increase the cone width, or make it rectangular, and it needs a buff, healing seed is good, but it's morph doesn't feel fluid to use, maybe make it a cast onto the ground and heal every second a part of it's total heal.
  • As a dps, buff buff please BUFF Swarm, the other skills works great in combos, but this one and it's morphs take too long to cast and don't do much. Maybe make the growing swarm also re-infect the initial target at the end of it's duration, and the other morph, maybe let you cast it without a target to get the morph buff, and then cast it onto a target. For the base swarm, please buff the damage by at least 20%.. Ultimate, well it's a pet, they're just hard to use.

No OP stuff for you, son, go away.
    • PC EU. Ebonheart Pact. CP 1k+
    • YouTube: All ESO disguises (2014)
    • EU players are humans too! We want our maintenances in the least pop time (at deep night) and not lasted for several hours!
    • Animation canceR - is true PvP cancer! When you can't see which actions your opponent do - you can't react properly on them!

This needs a section for Winters Embrace as DPS.

I would like to note, I am speaking purely from a PvE point of view.

I am seriously trying this myself, in fact, but what I can't quite wrap my head around is the 8% max magicka of Northern Storm. I feel the warden should get those from somewhere else - Preferably class skill line passive related somehow instead of somewhat forcing people to permaslot the same ultimate on both bars.

This definitely hurts the people who do not strictly follow the meta and play a non-magicka race for perhaps aesthetic reasons or whatever floats their boat. Swapping between bars when only one is having Northern storm slotted, practically makes those 8% magicka evaporate on the first swap which is also a little painful with the sustain changes.

I also remember having read somewhere in a beta tooltip of Frozen Gate that it originally dealt frost damage to targets immune to its effect. Could we have that back? (Would perhaps suggest making a morph turning it into a frost equivalent to the fire rune, with respective classic effect/s to its own element and of course not the enormous radius the base skill has) Some may disagree here but I'd like frost not to be too hard niche-balled into tank-only. Been waiting since day 1 for an actual frost magic skill line and half of the wardens is a little lacking on that end.

And a little addendum regarding Dive - The delay of the Cliffracer makes this somewhat clunky to weave, aside from that though a pretty solid skill.

I have been wanting a nice Ice Magic skill line as well, but this one is focused soley on defense and tanking... So while that's a bit disappointing, I understand it has it's place in the game. I agree with what you're saying about the 8% max magicka from Northern Storm, it doesn't fit the theme of the Warden Ice skill line either... I mean it gives you some damage mitgation, but shouldn't it be health related instead of mana related? Since that's what the ice magic abilities damage scales from...?

As for the Cliffracer delay, I love it because you can combo it with the beetle spell and a third spell for huge burst damage, though it is predictable and easy to dodge, like meteor.

Not all of them scale off of max health.

Has anyone had a chance to test out DPS? Warden was insanely weak on the PTS (it parsed like 5-10k behind the other classes). ZOS said they were going to fix them this Monday.

They made animal companion skills add 2% to all dmg and increased magicka dmg by 6% as a passive.
    PS4 EU DC

    Current CP : 756+

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

Try the winter ultimate in dungeons. It rocks. Not only does it give the whole party 30% damage mitigation, it does good AOE DPS if you get up close and personal (the way I play my magicka DPS warden) and gives you +8% magicka for having it slotted.

Fetcher Infection is a good DOT. If you feel a need to cast it twice for that +50% damage, you're wasting time and DPS. Just refresh it when it expires and it'll do +50% the second time.
