What Happened to the Magika Warden DPS Buff?

Maybe I missed something, but last I heard there was going to be a buff to Mag Wardens for the May 22 Patch. Did this change after it was announced? because there's nothing on Wardens in the Patch Notes.

They should make thread with changes in this patch compared to last PTS, but overall warden is not in these patch notes because they note changes from current live version (where is no warden)

It's in the same place as the promised changes to Siphoning Attacks: missing

I hope you're referring to PvP.

In PvE, ZOS has managed to balance all of the class specs (except Magicka Warden) quite well this patch based on testing so far.

ZOS mentioned the last ESO Live that Sorcs pet damage was being nerfed (stated in notes) and that Nightblades siphoning attacks was getting a change (possibly similar to Rally?) but that was nowhere to be found in the notes.

Gina just posted the buff in the Pants Notes thread. I'll quote it here:
Here are the changes for Siphoning Strikes, and we'll update the patch notes to reflect:
    • Recasting this ability or its morphs early will now always trigger the ending resource restore. The value of this restore is based on the length of time the abilities were active, similar to Rally's heal.
    • Each Light or Heavy Attack from this ability or its morphs will now restore less resources, but the final burst at the end will restore more resources. The total resources restored by this ability will remain roughly the same.

:) honestly a very strong ability

Anyone know if @ZOS_GinaBruno is going to add buff info for Warden to PTS notes then?

Idk, but if they only did damage rescaling we might never figure it out by our own, we should get some clarification from zos.

It is in closed beta forum. I hope the NDA is gone completly if not then sue me (plz no)
Below are the changes we made to the Warden that are included in today's Live patch:
    • Advanced Species now increases damage to all abilities by 2% per Animal Companion ability slotted. Previously, this passive only enhanced Animal Companion abilities.
    • Piercing Cold now increases damage to all Magic and Cold damage abilities instead of Physical and Frost damage abilities.

Yes you read it right. They couldnt buff mag warden normally. They had to nerf stam warden on the side.

The mag Warden buff got too close to a Blazeplar and stayed there. You know how the story ended for both.

Nice, hopefully that gets added to the patch notes "soon", not everybody is reading that full thread :-)

does backbar slot count for this?

most people just slotted subterranean assault on their first bar for stam. bull netch on backbar. so it's a 4%-2% nerf to dps. maybe bear ulti now in certain situations although dawnbringer was better. not THAT big of a deal, but why? warden wasn't OP dps.

magicka might use bird of prey(maybe) , deep fissure, screaming cliff racer on their first bar. blue betty and fetcher infection backbar. maybe even bear ulti now although the staff ult is better. so that's really a 12%-14% buff if this passive only counts the frontbar.

this means that stam actually still does more dps. unless this passive counts the backbar too. still, magicka got a huge buff. most likely magicka does around 29k dps to a single target dummy while stam can do 33k with ideal gear/setup.

the only role where this class really shines in trials would be healer. stam is still really strong in pvp.

You can run Bear, assualt cliff racer, bird and netch all on one bar, then one of the major weapon skills as the 5th and go all out of the speices damage even for stam.

Back bar, Hail, Caltrops, injection, trap, Vigor?/green lotus?, Bear.

I think for target dummy damage will be high, but in practice it might still be a nerf, losing on a lot of bar versitility.

I am unsure if this is enough to make Magicka Warden viable. I'll trust in Zenimax to at least get them close to other setups if not on par though!

Personally I thought further investment in Ice skills would've been a cooler way to go about it, but will still hope for these passive buffs to be enough.
