I am going to recommend this set, cause I want more tanks in game! o:)

hist bark

(2 items) Adds 1935 Physical Resistance

(3 items) Adds 129 Health Recovery

(4 items) Adds 1064 Maximum Health

(5 items) While you are blocking you gain Major Evasion, increasing dodge chance by 15%.

Starting off tanking you will find it different from other games. You will need to watch the boss movements and try to keep aggro on some of adds (not mroe then you can handle) . Make sure to block boss heavy attacks, shield often as you can sustain while making sure you use shards or orbs to keep up resources

I recommend this set because it's forgiving for mistakes with 15% dodge chance so not all the hits are going to hit you. Remember if you aren't sure what to do just keep taunting and blocking then you can learn form there..

Night's Silence (2 traits) - 5 piece allows you to run in stealth. Easy to make yourself, easy to get a hold of for a low level crafter, and available in the opening zones. For the nascent or would be thief, this set will make your life far less painful while learning to rob the merchants blind and run from the guards.

Armor of the Seducer (3 traits) - Add Magicka Recovery, 5 piece reduce ability costs by 8%.

Hunding's Rage (6 traits) - For a stamina character, Hunding's is just a great workhorse. It is just weapon damage up, but you can make it through most of the game on this set.

Honorable mentions to Julianos (Spell Damage up), Vampire's Kiss (health returned on killing enemies), Alessia's Bulwark (tank resistance set), Willow's Path (Resource recovery), and Morkuldin for the funzies.

Remember: you can mix and match the crafted sets as it only takes 5 pieces to receive the set bonus so at low levels, you can add in other sets with your weapons and the extra two piece (though you can't wear two 5 piece crafted sets). So, pair Hunding's Rage (5piece) with 3 to 4 piece Night Mother's Gaze. So pay attention to what the 3 piece gets you rather than just focusing on the 5 piece. 3 piece Twilight's Embrace will net you 600 spell critical for example, which can be helpful if you're running a Sorc heavily into lightning.

There's arguable need to worry about gear at all but if you want training pieces this combo works ok, for me anyway.

All training traited maybe infused legs/chest but meh..

    Willows Path x 3
    5x Seducer/Julianos/Kagrenacs or Hundings/Night Mother
    and ..whatever accessories

    - 5x body pieces of your (magicka or stamina) choice.
    - Willows Path shoulder and helm and at least one weapon of each type and a shield ( to level weapon skills (more useful past lvl15)
    - Depending on your wd/sd focus, mix up the armor types eg 5x light, 1 x Heavy, 1 x Medium to level those
(at least three of your most favorable/preferred armor type - you need three to start leveling the armor passives)

I use a mix of Juiianos and Seducer for leveling my magicka characters. Typically I'll use Hundings for leveling for stam builds.

I craft the following sets, make them blue - all Training:

    Level 4, 10, 20, 30

Make the following set purple - Training:

    Level 40

I craft the following weapons in blue - all Training:

Level 4, 10, 14 (2 weapons moving forward), 20, 30 (the level 14 weapon is for my backbar at 15)

    I craft a purple at - Training:

    Level 40

    Enchants:

Primary stat on armor x 5
Health on armor x 2 (one large piece, one small piece)
Weapon - I prefer Crusher myself

    I use the standard 5/1/1 armor set (e.g., magicka = 5 light, 1 med, 1 heavy)

The nice thing, I just bank the armor/weapons and use them for each new character I make as I can share them on the same account. Create one set and done. Works for me...

End game totally depends on class/build.

I wouldn't recommend anything for new players until they hit level 50.

Despite the fact dungeon gear has turned crafters into a side show freak, it's still important to get the research and several passives unlocked.

If you're breaking stuff down at level 50 and don't have anything unlocked, you're losing precious tempers.

Those things you'll need to enhance your dungeon dropped set.

I agreed but the training trait is almost too good especially for leveling everything lvl and gear passives.

I would also hold off refining until you have the passives to boost return.
Deconstructing purple or blue is not really that bad considering it gives you a fair amount of inspiration points.
The best way still, is to pair up with another crafter and deconstruct each others creations.

Still need those skill points though so leveling a crafter first has its benefits.

but some of them are going to level up slowly so might as well gear them up and let them try out new things! o:)

Oh yeah. There are better sets, but if you're playing a stealthy character at low levels (or even high ones) it takes edge off when it comes to going in and out of stealth. Lots of fun!

To be honest, the game doesn't start getting tricky enough until you start getting champ points, so personally i don't bother with crafted sets until i hit 50, drops seem to do the job for most of the open world content until then, but if i was to recommend any crafting sets, they would be:

    Magicka characters: Seducer
    Stamina characters: Hundings
    Tanks : Hist

newbie thiefs will be sure to enjoy it! Maybe me too one day still got to get legenderman to lvl 20. Only got it to lvl 10 lvling it with chests and some items that I laundered.

Well, all depends on how you plan to play. Even though the changes to heavy attack made Morrowind less of a Nerfpocolypse than people predicted many builds need to concern themselves with sustain. So....for magicka, Seducer set is VERY good, and Magnus Gift nearly as good. If you need more dps than sustain then go with Assassin's Guile, Torug's Pact, Twilight's Embrace or, if you can get it, Julianos.

On the stam side its a bit more difficult for sustain sets...all that comes to mind other than Willow's Path (which may or may not still be broken) is Night's Silence or Shacklebreaker. On the DPS end of things a BUNCH of options, including the aforementioned Shacklebreaker, Ashen Grip, Kvatch Gladiator or, if you can get it, Hundings Rage and Night Mothers.

As for tanking.....Hist Bark is decent.....but Tava's Favor and Alessia's Bulwark arent too bad.....depending on build. Even Trial By Fire or Whitestrike can be decent initially.

Lots of options! But were it me I'd go Seducer on magicka, and maybe either Magnus or similar partial, and then go DPS over sustain for stam builds, since heavy attack returns so much now for melee and bow.
The opinions of others should always be heard, especially if they dont agree with your own! But you always reserve the right to laugh at them.

In the old VR days, I'd be the first to offer set options.

    But now? No way.

The problem is the game's leveling buff is giving new players an extremely false sense of accomplishment. Putting on crafted sets is only going to emphasize their belief "I'm a freaking god now!"

    Nope.

My stamBlade just hit level 30 and I'm only wearing the basic leather armor with enchants. No traits. No special sets.

I have zero problem with the game wearing this because I know my "skills" aren't going to truly show up until I hit level 50.

No amount of armor is going to change the fact that at level 50, we then truly start to play the game with the skills we've selected.

Right now, new players can pick up a mudball and destroy Mannimarco with it.

Let's see them try that at level 50.

Anything with recovery and +stat for whatever you use, stam or mag.
Spell crit and damage for mag. Weapon crit and damage for stam.

Honestly, though, pre-50, just get training gear and whatever you happen to get from dolmens and dungeons while completing zones.

Although personally i don't think it's really worth worrying about sets until you're well into getting a fixed skill spec, you just end up constantly re-crafting or buying sets when drops are good enough for new players, one thing i would advise a new player to do:

Every 10 levels or so, choose a zone, discover the wayshrine nearest to each dolmen, and type +dolmen into zone chat and you will usually get a group invite. In most zones there are large groups farming dolmens almost constantly, they cycle through all the dolmens in quick succession.

Basically join the group and follow them around, join in the fight at the dolmen (technically you can just stand there doing nothing, as long as you get a single hit on the final boss you will get access to the chest), loot the chest, rinse repeat.

From the chest at the end of each dolmen you can get a half decent basic set of jewelry (necklace and two rings), there's usually three sets per zone, for example in Audilon you can get the Elegant set which is a magicka based set. Not only do you get a decent leveling set of jewelry at your level (which comes in green, blue, and purple so you can choose how long you keep farming), you also get quite a bit of exp.
