Seriously this isn't that big of a deal and I think some people in this old thread that is old may be overreacting just a bit (which is shocking to see on the ESO forum site). While I agree ZOS probably should update the UI so it accurately reflects the jump points and doesn't tell you that you are getting more damage unless you really are by adding a point, I don't mind the fact that they exist. In fact I kind of like them since it makes figuring out your champ point allocation more difficult and interesting.
Also bumping this thread might confuse some people and make this think the jump points changed again with Horns of the Reach, which I don't believe they have.

It's a huge deal because it means that people are potentially wasting dozens of CP points.
