Suggestions Bank Slots, ESO+, Business model and others

Hello to all,

After I could not find the thread I was reading last night, about the doubling bank slots for the ESO+ members, to add my 2 cents opinion, I thought it would be better to create a Suggestion Thread with more suggestions.
As a new player, please forgive me if I write something that it is not right. After having played A LOT of F2P, P2P and B2P games out there the last *cough - cough* years I wanted to add some observations with respect above all to both the Community and the Devs who brought us this great game. Please have in mind that the prices, costs and numbers I am using in my examples are totally fictional. ZOS can make their research and find the perfect balance for the products/services I suggest below. With no further delay here we are:

Content of Suggestions:
1. Create a Forum Category for Suggestions
2. Create more options for Inventory/Bank Slots and give them for free to the ESO+ members. The rest will have to buy them either with in game gold or with Crowns
3. Create another ESO+ membership with 5 Euro cost that will give a lot less than the current ESO+
4. Create Game Packages that includes all the current DLCs for the new and the returning players.

1. Suggestion Category in the Forums

- The Problem: I do not know if I do something wrong but I could not find one.
- My Analysis: I believe a game such as ESO, should have at least one field where players could post their constructive suggestions, ideas, thoughts for all the things they like, dislike, want to change, additions they would like to see etc. no matter how small or big they are. To leave crucial (sometimes) suggestions that will make the life of the players better, getting buried in the piles of other threads in General Discussion Section, is not good for both Devs and players. I know ZOS are listening, but it would be great to have a different place to post our ideas so that good suggestions will remain on top above all. I read some very good points in these threads. It is a shame to loose them in a matter of hours.
- Possible Solution: Create a new Category only for Suggestions and fresh Ideas from your player base.

2. Inventory - Bank Slots

- The Problem: I read A LOT of threads about this issue. There are SO MANY items in the game (which is very good for all) and some players love to keep them "just in case". The space that the game provides for storage cannot cover the player's needs even if you have ESO+ Subscription in some cases.
- My Analysis: An MMO title such as ESO should not limit their players how to play. There are so many other MMOs who they actually tell you how to play. I came to ESO because from my research I understand that it is not one of these games. There are those who enjoy themselves while hoarding and there are others who just do not care. We are not here to judge each individual play style. We are here to discuss options that allow as many playstyles as they can in this magnificent game. After all the Elder Scrolls series it was about that: Do whatever you want however you want and then taste the results of your actions. Doubling the Bank Slots for all the ESO+ members is a very good thing to solve partially the problem. But for all the other non-ESO+ players the problem exists. I want to clear something very important here: I do not ask in any case to make the ESO+ Subscription less attractive to the supporters of this product neither I want to give free services to those who are not ESO+ Subscribers. I do not want to take away privileges from the ESO+ players. They support the game monthly and ZOS must give them some extra convenience tools. What about the rest of the Community though? They bought the game and they buy Store Items with Crowns once in a while or every month. I ask from the Devs to consider something VERY CRUCIAL: From where I came from (other MMOS) the Devs, wanted to give to the Subscribers services that made the rest of the community (non Subscribers) to feel like they were punished because of their decision not to subscribe. We all understand why this is bad and how it leads to an avalanche of events if the gap gets even bigger between Subscribers and non Subscribers services and we all know what happen in those cases (yes I am looking at you Rift Online and Trion). But let's face it: If the P2P Model was a success story for ESO, it would never change its business model to B2P with optional Sub and a Store. They changed it because the former model failed. You have created another model which seems healthy and we should leave it that way. That is why, careful moves need to be made here so that you do not change the balance you achieved the past years until now. Do not fall to the same mistakes other developers did over the years and lose almost all of the Subscribers in a matter of months. Instead find the perfect balance between the two categories of the supporters: the ESO+ and the non-ESO+ and try to keep it that way. How can we do that?
- Possible Solution:
The community has already said in many threads:
- For those who can afford the ESO+ => Problem almost solved for both the players and the Devs.
- For those who cannot afford the ESO+ => the problem still exists.
What is the problem? The problem is the feeling of doing things in a game you already bought to play especially in the crafting/saving gear fields. We must consider that non ESO+ players, bought the game and continue to support the Devs from the Store. What these players do for the Slots problem? They buy another "fake" copy of the game (the basic game without DLCs), which you can find about 7-10 Euros and they use the characters in there for mules. Why adding such frustrating tactics to those who actually support you in the long run with their presence and their money from time to time? Yes, this "solution" maybe it is convenient for ZOS as it gives them the opportunity to "brag" about the active accounts, but on the other hand, I do not think it is practical at all for those who are doing it neither I believe they deserve it. What can we do then?

Suggestion #1: For the same cost of the extra copy (7-10 Euros) ZOS can add in the Store the number of Slots the players find in their purchase (without the possible upgrades of course)=> 60 Common Bank Slots and 60 Inventory Slots from 8 players => 60 + 60x8 = 540 Slots. So, for e.g. 700 - 900 Crowns, the player can buy double the active slots in the game. That means, a new player who bought the game and this service will begin his adventures having 120 Common Bank Slots and 120 Inventory Slots to all 8 characters in his account and each one he will decide to unlock after. This service it will be one per account. ESO+ members, will have this service granted while the non ESO+ members will have to buy it as they do with the DLSs. ZOS win the same amount of money (if not more from those who will actually buy the service for their other accounts too), players win a lot less frustration. At this point I must say I do not forget that in a new account I can upgrade further the slots and if I add the mail convenience too, it looks like a better solution overall. That is why in order for this suggestion to work we must change the whole "upgrade" mechanism for all the Slots (bank and inventory) which I discuss below.

Suggestion #2: The ESO+ players have the unlimited crafting bag. Allow the non ESO+ members to buy/unlock a limited crafting bag. It would be a 25 slot bag that will cost e.g. 500 Crowns or 2500 gold. It would be possible to upgrade it for 2500 gold each time to a maximum 250 slots (10x2500 = 25000 gold). There would be the choice to buy that bag fully upgraded to 250 slots for 12500 Crowns. I believe a 250 crafting slot bag will not make the ESO+ players angry, while it will certainly add a fresh air into the crafting skills for all the not ESO+ players that want to explore the crafting professions as well. ZOS win, players win. Again the numbers are totally fictional and they may need fixing, but you get my idea.

Suggestion #3: Add a Personal Bank with 60 Slots for each character in the account. It would be a 60 Slot personal bag that can be upgraded up to 240 Slots. That means that every character will start with 60 Inventory Slots, 60 Common Bank Slots (all the characters share items in here) and 60 Personal Bank Slots (only one character deposit in here). The Personal Bank, does not need to have money stash. A player who want to bank money will do that in the Common Bank. All the non ESO+ members will have to pay in order to upgrade the Personal Bank Slots to 240, upgrading 10 Slots with each purchase up to 240. This feature will be granted for free for all the ESO+ members. ZOS win, players win, ESO+ have one more feature to brag about.

Suggestion #4: Add one Personal Bank (Chest) Housing for every account. The Chest can be crafted (will require Blacksmith and Woodworking professions - maybe enchanting too), or can be bought from the Store for 900 Crowns. It will have 100 Slots and we could upgrade it up to 250. The upgrades will require again materials that will be available from the Blacksmiths, Woodworkers and Enchanters. Each upgrade will add 10 or 50 slots choices. ESO+ members will have the double space (500) for the same materials or they can have it all the Slots for free.

From all the above suggestions, we can mix and match. We can tweak and fix some of them but at the end we can solve the slot problem in ESO.

3. Inventory - Bank Slots Upgrade
- The Problem: Maybe it suppose to be a money sink, but I do not think lots of players agree with the current upgrading prices.
- My Analysis: If we implement some of my suggestions above, we can understand that if the game keeps the current pricing method for the upgrades, the total cost will be astronomical. Just think to have the current bank upgrade pricing for the Personal Bank, the Common Bank, Housing Bank (Chest) and Crafting Bag!
My suggestion is to lower these prices. A player will pay almost the same gold as previous but at least this time will have a lot more space to do the things he wants to do.
- Possible Solution: I suggest some flat prices instead. I am giving an example below:
- Common Bank Space
From 60 to 70 Slots => 1.000 Gold
From 70 to 80 Slots => 2.000 Gold
From 80 to 90 Slots => 3.000 Gold
From 90 to 100 Slots => 4.000 Gold
From 100 to 110 Slots => 6.000 Gold
From 110 to 120 Slots => 8.000 Gold
From 120 to 130 Slots => 10.000 Gold
From 130 to 140 Slots => 12.000 Gold
From 140 to 150 Slots => 14.000 Gold
From 150 to 160 Slots => 20.000 Gold
From 160 to 170 Slots => 25.000 Gold
From 170 to 180 Slots => 30.000 Gold
From 180 to 190 Slots => 35.000 Gold
From 190 to 200 Slots => 40.000 Gold
From 200 to 210 Slots => 45.000 Gold
From 210 to 220 Slots => 50.000 Gold
From 220 to 230 Slots => 55.000 Gold
From 230 to 240 Slots => 60.000 Gold

Total Cost => 420.000 Gold. Current Total Cost => 768.500 Gold We can add the same cost for the Personal Bank Space so both Common and Personal bank upgrades will cost 840.000 gold.

- Inventory Space
From 60 to 70 Slots => 1.000 Gold
From 70 to 80 Slots => 2.000 Gold
From 80 to 90 Slots => 3.000 Gold
From 90 to 100 Slots => 4.000 Gold
From 100 to 110 Slots => 10.000 Gold
From 110 to 120 Slots => 15.000 Gold
From 120 to 130 Slots => 20.000 Gold
From 130 to 140 Slots => 25.000 Gold

Total Cost => 80.000 Gold. Current Total Cost => 179.700 Gold If we add the Housing Chest for those who will want to have it, we can understand that at the end the non ESO+ players will pay more that now but at least they will have a lot more slots.

- Mount Space
No changes have to be made here.

Conclusion: Instead of giving the double amount to the ESO+ members and none to the non ESO+ players, create more options for both players and give those options for free to the ESO+ players OR give them the double amount for the same in game gold cost. More affordable spaces for everyone and the ESO+ members will have all of them FOR FREE!
Question: What about all those who already paid the full costs for the characters and the bank slots? Will be the victims in that case?
Answer: Of course not. ZOS will calculate the differences for each case and they can send the rest of the gold with in game mail.
Example: I upgraded my Bank with the old prices. That means I wasted 768.500 gold. After the changes, a mail will give me 768.500 - 420.000 = 348.500 gold.

4. ESO+ Members
The Current ESO+ , gives some good bonus and it costs 15 Euros in Europe. if this price is considered low or high, depends from the economical status of each player. I am here to suggest, aside from all the existing bonus, another bonus of a 50% lower times for the horse upgrades (I do not know if they already give that - if they do please ignore this suggestion).
I wanted to suggest another one ESO membership lets call it e.g. ESO- (minus) which will cost 5 Euros per month and it will give:
- Access to Unlimited Craft Bag or to a limited Edition lets say 300 Slots.
- You start with 2x Inventory-Common/Personal/Housing Chest Slots as those who will purchase the Slot Service we said above BUT you will not have the double slots as the ESO+ players.
- 2x Bonuses to allowable furnishes and collectibles in player housing
- 500 Crows per month.

- No DLC access
- No XP bonus
- No Crafting bonus
- No research time bonus
- No gold acquisition bonus
- No bonus from the other Bank Slots we talked above

To be honest if they create all the above this type of Subscription may not be needed. I add it just in case we came up with some good ideas to have a minor Sub for those who cannot support the game for 15 Euros per month but they still want to have a monthly type of sub.

5. DLCs Packages
- The Problem: A new player, has so many Edition to choose from in order to start his adventures into the magic world of Elder Scrolls that eventually need to do a good research in order to check prices and content. The returning players want to know what changed the time they were away and need to catch up with the rest of their friends or make new ones.
- My Analysis: The new player has to choose between Tamriel Unlimited, Gonlen Edition, Imperial Edition and now Morrowind. At the same time Shadows of the Hist are nowhere to find in a package and it will be considered already an old DLC by the time Morrowind hits the Servers.
- Possible Solution: In my opinion we do not need the Tamriel Edition at all. Create another Edition, e.g. Golden Imperial Edition which will include all the available DLCs up until Morrowind (without Morrowing) at the price of the Tamriel Edition. All the new players will jump in all the available areas with their friends without having to check which DLCs has one of them and which the others. When Morrowing comes out, all the DLCs from there and forth will be added to the Morrowind package. That means if I want to play with a friend in Morrowind expansion and have all the DLCs up until that moment I will buy the Golden Imperial Edition for 30 Euros and then the Morrowind for whatever the price would be and bam, there I am. Every new DLC after 3-4 months from each release will be added in the Morrowind package. So, a returning player who already has the DLCs before Morrowind and comes to the game after a year or so, he will be available to buy the Morrowind and the DLCs that have been released up until then for the same price as the Morrowind itself. In the case where someone has all the DLCs until the Morrowing and he has Morrowind as well but not all the addition from there and on, he could choose to buy all the latest editions in a premium price e.g. 5-10 Euros per DLC as long his account has not been active for a year or 6 months. That way they will be playing the latest content with their friends all together and not searching for what have been added, if they want one specific DLC or the other or none at all.

Forgive my long writing. I wanted to share these thoughts with the community hoping that something good will raise from a constructive dialogue for all.

With respect to the Community and the Dev Team, I hope the best for all of them and for the game we play and enjoy!
