First off, let me start by saying I love the ESO soundtracks and in-game music. I have always been a been a big fan of Epic orchestral soundtracks - I have full albums of Two Steps from Hell, Immediate Music, and Audiomachine. I also have a lot of the Hans Zimmer soundtracks.
However, it didn't take me long to realise that the game zones have soundtracks that are bound to them.
It appears now that almost the entire original soundtrack is now missing from the zones. Most of the zones (Bar 4 of the AD zones and the Skyrim/EP zones) play DLC music now.
DC - Glenumbra and Rivenspire now play a mix of the OST (intro to zone) and Dark Brotherhood Music. Stormhaven and Bangkorai play the Wrothgar music. Alik'r still plays the OST mostly, but has been known to bug out entirely and carry over the soundtrack from the zone you were in before. It also plays Wrothgar Music.
The EP zones - Bleakrock, Eastmarch and the Rift play the OST for the Skyrim part of the game, but Stonefalls, Deshaan and Shadowfen all play the Thieves Guild soundtrack.
AD Zones - Nearly all OST apart from Malabal Tor, which plays Thieves Guild soundtrack.
My favourite soundtrack in game btw is Dark Brotherhood, followed closely by the OST from the Skyrim EP zones. The DB music actually really suits Rivenspire and Glenumbra, I think it would work well in the other 3 DC zones as well. I also think it would work really well in Deshaan. Any zone that has a story that involves plots, murder and intrigue just really suit it.
Now the request - I hate the music being interrupted by the combat music when you are just running around the zone and aggro the odd wild creature, or just have to clear mobs out of the way on paths. So, can we have an option to switch off the Combat Music?
