Does ESO lack adequate number of Stamina morphs ?

For a MMO, I believe ESO lacks a variety in melee (stamina in ESO lingo) skills. Almost all the classes share a subset of melee (stamina) abilities making them bland and not original/unique.

How many of you believe the same ?

    Personally? I think "stamina morphs" are poor game design. So, I have to admit that there are way too many of them.

    Yeah ZOS...we need more Stamina morphs
    Considering that the game requires you to choose between stam or mag as a primary resource pool - rather than having everyone rely on magicka to use abilities - yeah, i'd say the game is a bit lacking in stamina morphs. Most class exclusive skills can only use magicka, so those with mag-based builds end up having a lot more options concerning class skills when compared to those running stam builds. For instance out of the 15 skills avalible to dk (not including ults of course) only two can be morphed to stamina, and both are damage skills.

    Although I have to admit that i'm primarily bothered by the fact that it's nearly impossible to make a viable stam-based healer. Warden may help with this a bit, but I guess we'll see in due time.

    Other: remove resource scaling and make all damage scale off weapon. Make class abilities use exclusively magicka and weapon skills exclusively stamina.

    How about scale damage from a combination of magicka and stamina? Weapons could base off 2/3 stamina and 1/3 magicka. Class abilities could base off 1/3 magicka and 2/3 stamina. That way a hybrid might actually not suck but still lean characters towards Magicka / stamina model.

    i think it might be a good idea to get another magicka weapon line (meleeish) so it is more balanced there and then at the same time have more balanced magicka vs stamina morphs

    Stamina has four weapon lines to magicas two. That perfectly balances the magica leaning in the class skills, I say!

    If anything, I'd want more skill lines, one way or another, especially if there could be some choice... like guild skill lines, have some where you have to choose between a "stamina theme" guild -or- a "magica theme" guild, or something like that...
    ...maybe following that old "guild mastery" idea of mine, where you can choose one of your guilds to "master", thereby gaining access to a new selection of "advanced" guild skills - but you'd have to -choose- one among the

    Well, the thing is, magicka and stamina skills and builds weren't originally designed to be mutually exclusive. When they no longer fit their intended purpose, they figured that with enough bandaids they could escape a rework. No one wants to do it the right way because it is the hard way, but the longer you put it off the harder it gets.
    The generally amicable yet sporadically salty magplar that may or may not have 1vXed you in Sotha Sil. Who knows?

    I calculated how many skill lines there are for magicka compared to stamina on my DK.

    Stam has 8 stam only. Magicka has 7 (8 if we include Adrant Flame that has 2 stam morphs in total) of which 1 of the skill lines are a 3 in one (destro staffs have a different effect depending on what kind, so it is almost like they have 3 difderent weapons in one)

    so effectivley they have 10. (I did not include Undaunted or alliance war since they have some balance between stam and magicka skills)

    So don't come and say that "stamina has more weapon choices therefore they don't need more morphs". Also stamina only get to use 2 of their skill lines at once (3 with Fighters Guild) while magicka can use all 8 if they want.

    Awww man why not? I don't really like wrecking blow, it takes too long to use and is pretty easy to block/avoid. It would be nice to have a hard hitting class skill to use while on my 2h bar.

    Here's the thing. It's quality over quantity. Stamina doesn't need more morphs to be brought to parity. They need quality morphs. Also some utility skills are better as Magicka because then it doesn't leave a resource pool unused.

    Stamina could use some more morphs in the class ability trees. Just like Magicka could use alot of love in the weapon trees. However this would have to force ZOS to make a 3rd morph on the class tree abilities. ZOS should not and could not take more class abilities from magicka based players. In order to give them to stamina. More so when Stamina has the weapon tree advantage.

    QFT, but at this point we just need to remove damage/healing scaling on your primary resource so that you can use whatever morph you want.

    Nah theres enough.

    Stamina has 4 damaging weapon skill lines
    Magicka has 1 damaging weapon skill line.


    While a lot of class skills are 'magicka' , most of them aren't damaging and are support skills.

    As a stamina build you have a free resource pool (magicka) to basically dump when you want into utility skills and effects, cloak/ wings/ igneous/ purge etc... They don't do damage but provide utility. A stamina player out of magicka isn't in trouble, a magicka player out of stamina is.

    As a magicka player you can't do that, you still have to manage your stamina and can't afford to waste any on utility skills, very rarely using a cp passive may a magicka player use stamina skill but mostly no. All your damage/ heals/ utility/ buffs and debuffs come from 1 stat pool.

    If you take away the utility skills stamina has around the same usable damage skills as magicka.

    The balance has improved a lot compared to the first year or so when there were no stamina morphs at all and no physical/weapon dmg ultimates, but we still need a few more options for stamina players to differentiate the classes.

    How about turning crystal blast into stam morph (which nobody uses anyways), and a stamina/poison whip for DKs?

    There's no way stamina and magicka are on even playing fields. And that's a problem unless a class is just a collection of weapon skills.
