Got to pay 69.99 euros if the two only things Warden themed:

• Exclusive Warden Costume
• Grey War Bear

are interesting me?



I wish these two items have come into the 39.99 euros pack.
Unfortunately I won't spend 69.99 euros and won't buy the 39.99 euros pack as I don't like the look of the brown bear.
You should make your packs à la carte really.

Amazing, another threat on how ZOS is extorting money from us. Both Digital CE and physical CE offer a lot more then just 2 warden things. If you dont agree, dont play!

Do you have to buy it if you're not interested in the items? Nope.

Is it frustrating for those who want them, hate the price? Yup.

Are ZOS ever going to change their ways and put reputations and consumers before profits? Nope.

So like, welcome to ESO and the gaming industry in 2017. Where corporation greed ruined everything and many of us are still whales willing to throw money at something even when it's not worth it.

Alright, got to calm the things down looking at your comments. I don't know what you're on guys or if you got hormonal troubles but my post isn't a big deal and words like threat, reputation, greed, ruin do not fit here at all.

I'm just pointing at that packaging thing despite I'm all for business and marketing because this time is the tiny "too much" that won't pass for me hence I won't be in.

So that's nothing to get nervous about, nor for me nor for Zenimax and certainly not for the commenters that have trouble to manage their emotions. It's just an information for the team and it will be of value only if they see it again and again or when the time to analyze the balance sheet will come. period.

Will we have an option to buy collector's upgarde AFTER release? That's a thing that is interesting me.
All I want is gray bear. Nothing else matters for me. But I have no money to buy collector's edition right now.

That's how the entire game works tho, that's not even out of the ordinary.

In order to play as a Redguard and do group dungeons I had to buy the entire game instead of just buying the dungeons. Not that they were separate but just pointing out the packaging always contains things people have no interest in.

I imagine that those who purchased Morrowind may have absolutely no interest in any additions or the Warden, they just want to play their existing character in the new land but they have to pay $39.99

When I saw F2P years ago, I never imagined that this would be the end-game. So many gamers complain about every little thing that costs money.

It's tiresome and infuriating at the same time.

To OP.... either spend the 30 euros or don't. Why complain?

There's a bunch of other threads on the forum now complaining about evil ZOS's "greed" and how they're "forcing" everyone to pay through the nose, etc, etc, etc.

So, in that environment, your "gee, I don't care about most of the stuff in the CE" came across as Yet More Greed Complaining. /shrug

Personally, I've never bought any "collector's edition" of a game because they're usually packed full of stuff I don't care about and cost huge amounts (statues, fancy boxes, etc). So I just ignore them.

I think we'd all like it if we could get only the bits we like and pay for that, but well... "put things that different people want together into a package" is one of the oldest business strategies in the book.

It's almost as if you are suggesting that any of these collections of pixels have any intrinsic value. None of them do. Once the item has been created, which takes x amount of labour and resources, it doesn't need to be manufactured or shipped, it's a collection of pixels on a screen, the only ongoing cost is the servers used for customers to download that content. Of course they want to sell the more expensive package, so they make what are (arguably) the most desirable items part of the higher priced package. Basic marketing 101. Being fair or right has nothing whatsoever to do with it.

And yes, I did buy the collectors digital upgrade edition, because I want the shiny - but I do at least understand that none of these items has any actual intrinsic value. If I were being sent a certain weight of gold that might be different, and if the weight of the gold didn't match what was advertised then there might be a reasonable complaint to be made... but this is pixels. If you want it, buy it, if you don't want it, don't buy it.
