Confused about early access

I purchased Morrowind through Steam. Will I get early access on May 22nd? Is this considered the Digital Edition Upgrade? Because all I see is the "Collectors Edition" Digital upgrade.

I also have not found one single way to upgrade my Morrowind purchase to the "digital upgrade" if that even exists. Wouldn't it be $19.99?

The best advice I can offer is to log into your ESO account, go to the subscription page, and at the top right side it will say Morrowind xpac if it is registered on your account. If it doesn't say Morrowind xpac, then I don't know what to tell you.

As far as I know, yes. Seeing as how it hasn't started yet and there is till time for MASSIVE errors, confusion, and mistakes to be made on ZoS' part...

Isn't Steam digital? So I guess if you're on pc, and digital, you'll have early access.

@OP - you might have bought the wrong version.

It is both somewhat idiotic labeling and marketing by both ZOS and Steam - it is easy to confuse which version you should buy.

There are 5 versions - 1-CE, 2-Digital CE, 3-Digital CE Upgrade, 4-Standard, and 5-Morrowind Upgrade

If you already own the base game today, then anything other than #3 or 5 is a waste of money. When you use the steam search function though, in the dropdown box it only lists 1 of these for most searches, so you may miss that once you actually get to the main product page the search box links to, you will then see couple other package versions you can buy.

All of these are of course digital in the sense that ALL steam purchases are....digital. But this is small letter d for digital.

The Digital CE and Digital CE Upgrade is more a specific packaging of what bonus features you get, than the purchase and receiving method. Yes it is digital, but it is also capital letter Digital in the sense of the bundled package name.

If you are upgrading from base game, and already own base game via steam, then really all you are deciding is not whether you choose to buy a digital copy - because all the versions you can buy off steam are digital (perhaps the captain obvious statement of the year)

So all you are really deciding is do I buy the more limited features but cheaper priced Morrowind Upgrade version, or do I buy the everything included collectors bundle (the full version if you don't already own the base, and the upgrade version if you do)

So OP - if you purchased the cheaper Morrowind upgrade package, then no - it is not the Digital upgrade version. Easier way is did you pay 59.99 or 39.99?

Good news is either will get you early access on May 22.

Better yet, why does my ESO subscription page not show Morrowind?

Because you haven't linked your Steam account to ZOS's system?

From what I understood from an earlier thread, yes, Steam purchasers are supposed to get early access just like all other digital purchasers. Steam will purportedly send out codes as the date approaches (or maybe Morrowind will just become available automatically).

Note that I say supposed to, because ZOS has a sad/confused history of not playing well with Steam. Why any serious studio would still have so many problems with the most popular PC game marketplace of the last decade is completely beyond me. Maybe they resent Valve taking a tiny cut of sales. But that hardly justifies the potential sales they're leaving on the table if they acquire a nasty reputation on Steam for being buggy.

It's hardly a tiny cut. It's also a cut of any revenue future from that user, unless they explicitly go out and start up a new account, or are uncommonly tech savvy.

Also, I'm not 100% sure, but I suspect a lot of these issues actually are due to Steam, rather than ZOS, since Steam wants all of the associated microtransactions to pass through them, meaning they need to sign off on whatever the Steam user is doing. Buying crowns, paying their sub, preordering Morrowind. At that point, there's a real possibility these issues are, in fact, originating in Redmond, and not in Maryland.

I just bought morrowwind digital upgrade for PC from the ZoS website and it says I can access the content June 6th

I guess I missed the early access promo? Early access is over now?

Was just about to pre-order from ZOS website before reading this, hopefully it's just a case of a delay in updating in your membership page ?

Have you checked your ESO account page to see what it says there?

What makes you think i have not done that? I launch from Steam and it goes right into my ZOS account automatically.

Because they did not modify the purchasing web site to show early release date. They probably did not want to have 2 sets of when you can play information.
