Mine is only 900 but the only reason I think I'll have to scrap my build for Morrowind is because I use DW on the front bar. I'll likely still not run recovery bonuses/jewelry enchants and just heavy attack to get my resources back.

I do Sword and Board on my DPS bar. Yes, DW yields more spell damage, but that extra magic glyph on an infused shield adds plenty of oomph with a side benefit of an extra 3000+ resistance.
