• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

ZOS knows that their game is not even close to an elder scrolls game and here's the evidence...

So what is your point? They also closed the thread i started that discussed a conspiracy theory about ZOS wanting to sell the data they collect from you.

They closed it because it dates from December 2014, and they want it to prevent from being necro'd. If you want to open a fresh discussion, go ahead and do so. Just think before you type, and consider that ZOS have since changed a few things that invalidate the post.

My point is eso is a good game, but it needs to be worked on by true elder scrolls developers

it is as close as we will ever see in an mmo.
if anyone even Thinks of trying to make a elder scrolls themed mmo they will be met with a lawsuit.

they close outdated threads, beacuse they contain information that was changed, however as I see it this thread is someone expressing how he/she feels about the game

Unfortunately fans of TES SP games will never get the MMO we wanted and waited for. They already ruined that possibility permanently.

No it does not. Bethesda needs to stay far far far far away from ESO (and other multiplayer) and concentrate on what they do best. The fact that ESO is being dev'd by ZOS and not Bethesda is a good thing.

And ZOS has changed its terms of service after that and it was curiously right before the senate in the united states passed a bill that allows companies to sell your data without asking from you.

Indeed, think before you type your nonsense on the ESO forums.

Who do you think is working on this game????

All of the main dev team behind ESO have worked on previous games, most notably Oblivion and Morrowind.

This team is not the team that worked on Skyrim however. Its strange but true that Bethesda have had two different dev teams for the previous 5 games.

ESO's team is the one behind Oblivion and Morrowind. Also Matt Firor more notably worked on DAOC, which is where the entire design spectrum of Cyrodiil came from. ESO is very loosely based on the DAOC MMO design ethic.

a lot of the complaints in that thread ARE outdated.

Not only are the complains outdated, the way of accessing content through questing is totally different now (1T ... remember?)

It may be legit to say Eso is even less an elder scrolls game then back then with all storylines broken and no guidance through the RPG-part of the game, but that isn't the reason for closing the thread.

Many comments (pros and contras) to the original discussion are no longer valid or reasonable. Reading through all posts won't make anyone smarter in what is going on in RPG-ESO live, its just senseless to leave such a thread open.

That said, the topic of "How much elder scrolls experience is there in ESO?" is still very important to some players... unfortunatelly most concerns and discussions regarding this topic have been fallen on deaf ears already when the most impacting changes (i.e. breaking of comprehensive storylines in order to install OT) were announced. I don't know how fruitfull another atempt, now that the line has been crossed without foresight, will be.

Maybe we just wait for all those exited new players to show up here and ask about why in heavens name the quests are so dull and the narrative of an (overall very depp and rich story) is so completelly broken. ... Oh yeah, I know, none of them will complain ... why should they, they won't know better. They will just leave, like many of those enjoying the questing in ESO (before OT).

However, feel free to open another thread ... be asured many ppl will tell you everything is just fine and questing should not be overestimated in an RPG-MMO like ESO, because in other MMOs its standard to have crappy storylines ... or something along that line.

We have closed this thread since discussing moderator actions is against the forum rules. As for the thread mentioned in the original post, it was closed as a necro since it was over two years old. Anyone is welcome to start a new thread on the topic of solo PvE compared to prior Elder Scrolls games, as long as it stays constructive.
