Not sure if it's just me but lately whenever I tried to log off on any map in the game it doesn't close the client properly and it just stays unresponsive until I force close it, not matter if I wait out the 10 seconds of exit or not. Pretty weird, it works if I alt f4 tho.
It's like ZOS doesn't want me to stop playing, anyone else having this?
Had it too. Another one is sometimes it'll quit on my screen but if I open task manager it's still there, eating up most of my RAM doing hell knows what without being visually open o.O
Not sure if it's related to addons or not, should probably test it.
Yeah I have the task manager issue as well, I'll probably check the addons if it's them causing the issue... but I've been using the same few addons for months now and I've only been getting this issue nowadays
I have a similar but not identical issue. Mine started specifically when I went from a 5 year old Win7 tower, to a new Win10 laptop. Every time I close, I get an app error instead, it says that there was a problem closing, and there's a progress bar that keeps going back & forth. The popup is responsive though, I can click the button or the X in the corner to close it and get back to the desktop, without needing to use the Task Manager. I looked around a bit, and veified that it was not an addon, but since there were no other issues, it ended up on the back burner for the moment...
I've had this problem forever. I don't even remember if the game ever closed properly.

Screen goes black, I can alt tab and see mini versions of my windows, but cannot switch as the black screen overpowers all. I can hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and select "Task Manager" but the actual window itself gets buried behind the overpowering black screen so I can't access it.
ALT-F4 won't work, unless I do it before I choose "quit" in game. This is actually one of my work-arounds, as well as taking the game out of full screen and resizing the window before quitting, but once I choose "quit", its a forced reset of the computer (well, I CTRL-ALT-DEL and choose reset).

Try Borderless Windowed Mode, or what ever they call it. It looks full screen, but is really in a window that you can manipulate. Anyway, some systems it works better in Full Screen, some systems it works better in Borderless Windowed. You choose this from the Launcher in the options.
And, I have noticed the delay in getting back to the deskop too, but I suspect one of the new addons I am using that tracks played time.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I have that problem too. I was thinking it was my TTC add-on as it "up-dates" its self with each log off.
While my windows screen says it can't close properly, my TTC desk top screen is going thru the up-date process.
Lol... I have just got used to closing it manually..
