it's funny, when I played skyrim I used to dread going into the dungeons just cuz I knew it was gonna take hours, sometimes days to complete...

now, I'm kinda hoping for something a little more here in eso...

absolutely love the idea of adding traps (ones that'll kill you) and puzzles to a lot more of the dungeons...

Skyrim had draugr dungoens that were predictable and steamroll easy unless you put it to legendary difficulty then it turns the ai to the same stupid ai but damage sponges and hit harder. Only the dwemer ruins I looked forward to but skyrim lacked in depth to the original morrowinds traps. I didn't go into skyrims dungoens and go "oh look I am totally underleveled and might bump into a dremora or a daedroth that might wreck me" And I wouldn't call the exaggeration of hours in skyrim dungeons accurate cept for some dlc ones and that one with the hermaous mora related. Eso delves and dungeons are also faceroll easy sadly

The Ayleid ruins are ok but for the most part very cookie cutter. Once you've seen one you've pretty much seen all the rest.

What if I want to say yes to the first part and no to the second?

I had no problem with Ayleid ruins in Oblivion but I really don't care for the ones in ESO. I never tire of Dwemer ruins though.

Most of the overworld dungeons seem very short and predictable, there's only 30 unique map layouts that are copied several times and tweaked. Most can be solved if you turn left, turn left, turn left, fight a boss and turn left. Oh wait, there's a complete map of the dungeon on the screen if you get lost.

RNG dungeon maps would be really cool, like the way terrain randomly forms in the Elder Scrolls Daggerfall game.

this is why i enjoy the forums so much - the fact that someone would even know that number is amazing...

hopefully you didn't just make that up...oh well, even if you did - sounds pretty damn plausible to me...

The Ayleid ruins in ES IV were more expansive. I liked the design the one Ayleid ruin had in Wrothgar, but that was the exception. Maybe the team that does the delves should look to ES IV for ideas on renovating Ayleid ruins.
