Please nerf monster sets (e.g. Grothdarr only does damage to absorb shields)

Almost. We still need to wear fugly monster sets to not get instakicked out of dungeons.

Please Zos, you need to continue the changes you made with the BSW nerf and also nerf monster sets. That way we can wear full crafted gear and not feel body shamed for looking as ugly as our real life toons. I mean its bad enough having a face like Stormfist out in the real world and to be dating a Velidreth . I play ESO to escape reality.



Zos: i would recommend changing monster sets like the way you nerfed Pirate Skeleton,. Pirate Skeleton was changed to only proc if damage was done to health and not absorb shields. I would nerf the other sets in a similar vein, by adding conditionals.

Examples:
Ilambris now only procs if you are standing in a hostile lightning or flame damage aoe effect.

Valkyn Skoria: this set now requires you to be outdoors to call down a meteor.

Grothdarr: the damage caused by this effect only applies to absorb shields.

Why not ask for a setting to hide monster sets or ask for costumes of known motifs.

That is a lot better than asking for the sets to be nerfed so you won't be expected to wear them anymore.

Wow, I didn't know so many people want to look ugly ingame. I guess that's why I see so many orc toons wearing wedding dresses.

Meanwhile, I just want to use the motif styles that I grinded for.

Maybe I should have reworded my OP as calling for a "buff" instead of a "nerf." This will be a buff iff you want monster sets to get nerfed so you can wear good looking gear. Perhaps I would have got a more positive response from the community then.

I keep my helmet turned off specifically for this issue. I also currently use crafted sets for the most visible slots of my gear and will continue to do so until I get trial sets that are far superior stat wise and then just use a costume again.

Kind of stupid they haven't implemented "inspect" and some form of "transmog" yet.

Just double up the gear slots and have one for visual and one for stats. This should be a stupidly fast feature to implement (leave all combat alone, add a new slot to handle the visuals, hook the visuals up to the new slot, new slot defaults to gear slot if unoccupied).

Obviously it's more work than that, but it's just code, so unless there is something horrific under the hood, it should be doable relatively quickly.

Just toggle the hide helmet option. I agree though monster sets are terribly designed. The should pieces often don't fit right or are too big like kena. There's a lot of clipping that happens. Many of them don't accept dyes the same as other armor does, especially if you're playing on lower graphics. The only should piece I don't mind is bloodspawn. I dislike all of the masks. I'm not one for funky or weird armor pieces. I'm a lover of traditional looking armor.
