Its quite simple

I see alot of people screaming out about the nerf and gear grind.

ZoS is living up to the promise of not raising gear cap, but never said anything about nerfing the BiS and metas that are here right now.

its like this, why would they raise gear cap, when they can just nerf the gear we have now, so we have to grind again for new BiS and meta. And hey, dont tell me you guys are surprised at this, the gear we have, will never be the gear you will use forever, its quite simple actually.

Or... just throwing out a crazy idea here.

They like many of the player base don't like the idea of one set greater than all and want to try and make as many of their sets as viable as possible.

Not everything has to always work or be balanced, but you should be able to have three or four options and not every class running the same sets.

This combined with some attention and work on the RNG pains (which they have acknowledged) wouldn't be a bad thing for the game.

Your first mistake was to think that there ever was BiS or Meta. It is due to change whenever and therefore not reliable.

And what is the problem with multiple classes running the same set?? Divirsity is created by your choice, not ZOS. Únless you want to min/max and go for leaderboard scores a few % of dps doesn´t matter.
And besides there´re a few option that is as viable as BSW (necro, julianos, scathing, not best in slot but still very viable good options already). And there´ll Always be BiS sets/meta that people will go for. Nerfing sets just because it´s BiS/preferable is just bad.

So if you motivate the nerf the same way the devs does ("creating divirsity") then I´m out....
I can agree with the pain of grinding 4-5 complete sets of BSW (I had the luck of getting 4-5 complete sets for my magicka dd´s) is an issue and some way to fix the RNG is somewhat needed. But that has nothing to do with gearbalance.

The issue comes when one set over performs in a way it's almost best for everyone no matter build. Then you lose diversity and have just plane "use this or not be good".

I understand there will always be a min/max meta and I am fine with that, but the gap between that meta and other choices shouldn't be to the extremes we sometimes see in ESO.

sometimes, these sets do not fit some peoples playstyle, so some will do better with sets that fit their playstyle.

When you min/max, to get the benefit you need to do certain rotations perfectly, whilst it's possible to master the rotation, if it's not fun to do, for you, then you soon get bored.

As mentioned by a few here and before in many other threads, we are only talking about a few % difference in DPS output, so its not essential to use these sets, it is in fact better to play in a style that you like in which you are effective.

The above reason is the greatest issue with the new incoming changes, as we will now all be forced into using specific sets and playing in a certain way to maintain your resources, this could be come very boring very quickly......

I do not recall Zos ever promising to not raid the gear cap, only that it would not be raised with this expansion. There would be no reason for Zos to say gear cap would not be raised with Morrowind if they had promised to never raise it.

Please link to the Zos statement of promising to not raise the gear cap.

    Thx.

with this expansion yes, I dont mean always, but with their way of doing this update, they really never need to raise gear cap, just nerf whats the BiS and meta, with every update
