Dark Anchors

Standing still while in combat with a Dark Anchor now causes an an extraplanar charge to gradually accumulate at your location. A charge that has built to critical levels explodes, damaging those who contributed to its growth and significantly reducing their health recovery.

    Only on consoles.

As I said in the PTS patch notes thread, PC macro's can be far more complex than just holding an attack button.

Still, we'll see how much people adapt and continue. I just wish ZOS would focus on actually getting an faster bot report tool, have reports land on a specialist GM team and have a real security division.

Spoilt by years of CCP Games and their awesome GM team.

A lot of them were apparently just staff-users constantly heavy-attacking by taping down their mouse button/controller trigger.

Pardon me while I wait for all the "ZOS never listen to us" posts...

Great news, incidentally. As for bots moving in packs, that's not been my experience at dolmens, there often seems to be a lone wolf perched in a convenient position and zapping the spot where the boss mob spawns. Given that they probably don't take much if any damage given the number of other players running around, I'd prefer it if the extraplanar charge killed them rather than damaging their health recovery, but it'll be interesting to see how it works out. I've no doubt that ZOS will be monitoring some dolmens while this is put to the test and will modify things accordingly.

most remotely decent bot programs allow you to "save" specific routes that the bot can walk and do stuff....not sure if the bot problem gets solved....

Depends on how long it takes for this static charge to build, how much damage it does when she blows, and (most importantly) whether there is a knockback effect that will cause the need to re-aim any attacks. If they can just stand through it, or if someone just heals them, then it is pretty much worthless.

On PTS, just go stand in a spot at a dolmen and let it happen to you.

I assume most ESO skill botters are script kiddies anyway.

That would be funny to see. I really don't see why so many people care about this. I can't even imagine being that worried over what someone else is doing, when it literally has no affect me. Just wish we could get some of the dc errors fixed but hey, we get to laugh at those bots dying.

Yeah, it won't do a thing for harvesting bots, but it's meant to specifically target dolmen bots that stand in one place. I see them at every single dolmen I go to, so this is great news.
I'm sure someone out there will program his dolmen bot to walk around, now, but it'll still stop the majority of them, I think.

I wish I could be there when the first one explodes, lol.

Of course it won't stop the more sophisticated cheaters like harvesters, but at least you won't be able to just go from level 1 to CP 600 just by taping down a mouse control for a few weeks.
