Last year, for a short time, you made it possible for PC players to copy their accounts to console. I played the beta, but wound up not getting the game immediately because the PC I had at the time couldn't really handle it that well. So, I waited and played when it came out on PS4. Now, I've got a better computer and have been playing a lot more on the PC (mostly in the PTS). I would love if we would do a one-time copy of console characters to PC the way PC was able to copy over to console last year.

There hasn't been a thread about this in like 2 months, so I figured it's time to bring this up again. ;)

Doubt it - they said it's a one-way street and will not happen. But then again they said many things... Some true and many, not so true..

I can see the ZoS side of it, but they could at least charge for the added service and there are probably plenty of people who would buy it. Loosing a max CP account would be horrible, and the biggest reason to allow such transfers. You have all my sympathy.

They said they were abke to do it that one time because they were copying character data over to a clean slate or something, when the console servers first opened. Now that things have been established and other technical doohickory i dont understand took place, its not that simple anymore.

The transfer was 2 years ago, not 1. Also, it caused many more problems than it helped.

    - economy ruined
    - CP capped toons running roughshod over the server in PVE and PVP for a full year.

The second part actually is why all of those "former great players that left" garbage posts exist. Those players weren't so great once the rest of the world caught up.

That said, I doubt the same problems would exist today but there are drawbacks.

Considering the number of players who have started over on PC after maxing out on console I think it would not be fair tonust give it to everyone and tell those that already transferee "to bad, so sad.

There are many who had to grind the CP again and grind for the gear again. Some who have cleared the most challenging PvE content such as vMoL HM and had to restart all over again.

We all knew, especially those on console, that there were no transfers available when we bought the game. At the very least that knowledge was available to anyone who wanted to know.

But they did do PC to console transfers. They may not have been available when the game first came out on console, but they were made available at a later time. I don't mind the idea of having to start all over, per se, but my play time is very limited and it sucks that the time I do get to play has to be re-doing all the work I've already done. As other people have mentioned in the past, it's a service I'd gladly pay for.

There's a difference between when a games fleash ves both well in. I think let it happen but restrict gold to 1 mill max, and items to 100 each
crafting items (and really gold mats I'm looking at you) to no more than 200 each to stop major economy breaking monopolys. Then the people who move are doing it for I guess genuine reasons as opposed to with the intent of messing up your neighbour hood. And it make that choice a little harder.

I wish they would offer transfers as a service. I would even pay for a transfer service. I already have a PC copy of the game for PTS testing.

Sure I could just level new characters; that is easy and won't take too long. I just don't want to farm all my gear again, redo all achievements, or spend 15k crowns for the house I've already purchased. Not to mention losing all the collectibles like mounts, costumes, etc. already purchased or collected.

If I could transfer all my chars to pc I wouldn't care if I had zero money or gear. Just chars and cp I'd be happy.

Dude, I would just be happy if it would transfer my characters with their already bound gear and then any extras I've bought that are cosmetic, like my house, my pets, and my mounts. Even if I came over with no gold and had to refarm all of my potion mats and gold mats, I'd gladly still do it. It's, as @VelociousLegend says, having to spend all the time to farm the gear again and redo all of the achievements.

IVe been thinking about this recently. I'd love to be able to transfer my mounts, pets etc to my pc account. Id even be willing to not transfer my character and have to start from scratch. I've just spent so much on the crown store over the time i've played. that's the stuff i'm most bothered about.

There really isn't a reason to have this service. The transfer was a courtesy to PC players who may have wanted to play ESO on console, but it wasn't available back then. When ZoS finally released it, they gave players who reluctantly bought the PC version a chance to keep their progress and continue on consoles as they originally wanted.

Taking console account with comparatively less progress than most PC players into the PC environment is a strange request, considering the ability to choose any platform was available at the time ESO was re-released for consoles. If you wanted to be on PC, you should have started on PC. Starting on console means you accepted that if you chose to move, you would forfeit progress on a new platform. The difference here is that PC players back then didn't have a platform choice - you did, so tough s***.

Since someone brought this thread to life I will respond

PC to console transfers were not offered at console launch nor soon after.

They were offered a year earlier. Players had to have purchased the game prior to June 2014 then had a small window to finalize it during a short window near the time consoles launched.

If they didn't meet both criteria they could not fransfer. There were a few players who didn't check their mail and misssed that window near launch time that never got to transfer.

It wasn't the simple transfer you seem to make it out to be.

Considering this complexity and that Zos had stated if would not happen again, as I stated, the post you partially quoted is accurate.

I'd kill to transfer back to PC from PS4 since my original account was a little after launch on PC from beta and i really don't wanna do all the work again on PC that i have on console and would love to get all DLC's on PC along with a account transfer and don't tell me they can't or never will since crossplay is an option in many cases but companies just don't wanna for whatever reason.
