What is the definition of a Warden for ESO ? Shaman ? Summoner ? Druid ?

I have yet to understand where to fit my character story.
All definitions for a Warden seems so strange regarding the game.

So ? they are able to understand the beast langage as mage ? They use the animals spirits to gain their power style shaman ? Or are they more like the druids regarding the whole nature ?

"Wardens seem to draw from their natural environment to change and shape reality itself. In layman's terms, something I think my colleague Phrastus may appreciate, the Spinners appear to employ a kind of illusionary magic, whereas the Wardens' abilities are more akin to what might traditionally be called alteration or conjuration."

That's the only information I could find on the subject so far.
For me Wardens are their own archetype - can't really pinpoint it at only one common type like druid, shaman etc.

I prefer my druids to be able to shape shift.

Though as far as role playing you can play it as a druid. This may be best druid like class we are going to get.

It almost reminds me of a previous game I was playing. They had beastlord in that. In a way almost but not quite identical.

That was my feeling too, more Druid by definition than warden.

If i google  a Warden definition is :
    1.
a person charged with the care or custody of persons, animals, or things; keeper.
    2.
the chief administrative officer in charge of a prison.

Not really corresponding with the class role.

Warden is also similar to a Keeper.

But on the game, i do not think that the Warden is any of this.

So yes, a Druid is more corresponding with the abilities and the role.

    Thanks

    Umm warden
Before judging a man walk a mile in his shoes.
    After that who cares?

I would say a Warden equals a paladin - its designed to heal and tank and can pull off some dmg. That's basically what paladins do.
Pugging. Pugging all the way to victory.
Imperial Dragonknight --- male, stamina, heavy & medium armor, dual wield, one hand and shield, two handed.
Breton Templar --- female, magicka, light armor, restoration staff.
Redguard Warden --- female, stamina, medium armor, bow.
Breton Sorcerer --- male, magicka, light armor, destruction staff.
Imperial Templar --- male, stamina, medium armor, two handed.

Templars are more Paladins than Wardens will ever be.

While Templars are associated with a divine background, they do not have any specific tanking skill line. Wardens have both, a healing and a tanking skill line, which makes them a paladin - a healing tank. The Templar is just a healer.

A paladin however is most often associated as a Holy Warrior, a role that the Templar will always win in, especially if you equip heavy armor and a two-handed weapon or sword and board.

Personally, I would say a Warden is its own archetype just like the rest of the classes are.

If you're looking to compare them to WoW classes (my apologies if this is not your intent) then I believe that the way you build your Warden with weapon abilites and armor types will more easily determin the genre you're looking for.

If not... Well, then a Warden is exactly that, a Warden.

The pet part of a Warden reminds me a bit of MMO Hunter classes. Though that goes for Sorcerers too, I guess.
The class itself comes close to a D&D Druid imo, but honestly.. a Warden is just a thing of its own. :)

They remind me of Pathfinder druids.

Little bit of Vanguard shaman, but mostly Pathfinder(which is based off d20, and similar to D&D) druids.

I was just wondering because i always have a background story for my characters, but for the Warden, nothing seems like to fit really with the lore.

So i guess i can do whatever i feel
