Hide of the Werewolf Change Suggestion (Open to Discussion.)

From an Analytical Approach, I scoured the forums for any similar topics before creating this discussion/suggestion & from here, I shall get on to the subject: the Hide of the Werewolf Armour set.

I have noticed that, much like the Saviors Hide & Hircines Veneer set, it is a medium set of armour specifically designed to be in line with Lycanthropic Players who wish to dominate the land with their mighty lupine prowess, but the current 2-3-4-5 piece bonuses are a bit underwhelming, but what brought this set to my attention is that I thought "With statistics like this, Would it not be better off being a Heavy Armour Set for Werewolves" here is the current statistics at legendary quality, champion 160:

Hide of the Werewolf Set:
Armour Type: Medium
Style: Primal

2 Pieces: Adds 1064 Max Health
3 Pieces: Adds 967 Max Stamina
4 Pieces: Adds 129 Weapon Damage
5 Pieces: When you take damage, you generate 5 Ultimate. This effect can occur once every 5 seconds.

Now here is where I break out certain details about it:
The Armour Being Medium means that it benefits certain medium armour skills Like increasing weapon damage by a set percentage when wearing any 5 pieces of medium armour as well as increasing weapon critical percentages by a flat value for each piece of medium armour worn, but here is the thing though, the way this Armour set in particular is set up is that in a way, It makes the Salvation set look like the more viable choice seeing as, it too, is medium.

But ever since I saw the Heavy Armour that is aptly named "Vampires cloak" I thought to myself "Why not have a heavy armour set that caters exclusively to werewolves." it may be just a name, but names hold some form of significance, plus the Damage Reduction on the Vampires Cloak Set kinda pairs well with the stage 3 passive that we all know as "Undeath." (Which Reduces Damage taken based on remaining health up to 33% when below 50% health.)

The Salvation set has a couple more stamina bonuses as well as increasing weapon damage even more on the 4-Piece as well as when the player is transformed with the 5-piece which increases weapon damage by 150 while transformed & reducing the cost of werewolf transformation by 33%. you can ponder this very question & leave a comment to put certain things onto this table of discussion to help bring a couple of key elements to light.

But here is what I have to suggest for the Hide of the Werewolf set(Which Shall be newly named to save time on Zenimax's Part), it is currently scaled to Champion 160, Legendary(Gold) Quality:

Lycanthrope's Hide:
Armour Type: Heavy
Style: Primal

2 Pieces: Adds 1064 Max Health**
3 Pieces: Adds 129 Stamina Recovery**, Improves the bonus from "Savage Strength" By an additional 7%.
4 Pieces: Transforming into a werewolf terrifies an additional target***, While in Werewolf form, You Take 15% Less Damage.
5 Pieces: Increases Blood Rage By an additional 2 seconds While Transformed, When you get hit by an enemies attack, you Generate 3 Ultimate*, this effect can only occur once every 5 seconds [/list]

*the Ultimate generation from the 5 piece only works while outside of werewolf form, like it always has been, whilst the 2 second addition to the blood rage passive only works in werewolf form respectively.

**The Max Health & Stamina Recovery is Affected by the level & quality of the gear & like so, Low level/quality gear will result in less.

***The Additional Terrified target bonus only applies to the Transformation & it's morph's, thus allowing those transforming into werewolves to fear up to four targets at once for 4 seconds, bearing a small resemblance to the Turn Undead Morph of the Fighters Guild skill "Circle of Protection.

Alpha-Lupi's Note:
I based most of the statistics loosely on the literacy seen in lorebooks such as "The Werewolf's Hide" "Five Aspects of Hircine" & "Living with Lycanthropy" Hence the idea/suggestion, here are the facts just in case:
  • The extra terrified target & 15% Damage Reduction on the 4th piece was inspired by the 6th paragraph of "The Werewolf's Hide" where it says the following: "When you are beset by enemies, when the mob comes for you & you transform into your true self to face sword & sickle, Pitchfork & pike, you will thank me. Your coat will gleam & Terrify, & no blow will harm you." that very paragraph gave me a spark of inspiration to bring about such an idea.
  • The 7% Bonus to the Savage Strength Passive from having equipped 3 pieces is a reference to The Aspect of Hircine known as Hrokkibeg, as it is said on the 5th paragraph of the lorebook "Five Aspects of Hircine" which says the following: "You may meet the mighty bear, who is invoked as Hrokkibeg. He embodies the totem of claw & fang, & comes here seeking solitude, peace from labors, And Renewal of the Burning Spirit Within. Beware, for if you rouse him and disturb his serenity you will be torn asunder. But if you approach him with deference and an offering of Honey-Sweet Mead, he may grant you the power of the Bear-Heart in your next fight."

If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.

honestly you could just switch the set into heavy armor and it would be very decent

I'd agree that this set and the other ultgen set (Dragon something) are both underpowered compared to say Tava's Favor. It probably just needs the cool down lowered to 3-4s and/or the ult buffed. 15% damage reduction is completely overpowered. 5% might be allowable and has been seen on other sets, but specific to npcs or players.

I don't even think that the set is good for ww in the current state. It gets you faster into ww-form, but once you are transformed you get nothing from the 5pc, which makes it kinda useless. The 5pc should definitely have some kind of bonus to ww-form

I agree and the 4 PC bonus OP has suggested makes the set WW focused. Seems it would make the use more restricted. I do not think the set is intended only for WWs. Hide of the WW does not indicate it is WW focused.

This set is widely used by tanks and the moment. Especially DK´s who need fast ultiregen. Changing this set to match WW-playstyle would be a nice thing tbh.

Or You can change set name so people stop thinking it's designed for werewolfs because it isnt. It works for everyone.

    @Qbiken

Salvation is the WW set. Reduces cost of WW transforming and increases weapon damage when in WW form. Probably a better choice for WWs that what OP has suggested.

Tava's Favor isnt actually overpowered if You consider fact You have to use very expensive skill and take lot of hits to keep this set active. Also the fact You wont be able to use Evasion in heavy armor anymore after CwC DLC means You'll be limited to only medium armor setups with exception of nb and maybe warden.

I know, but the set is underwhelming, could use a buff. WW in general could use some buffs/remake.

Werewolves used to generate ultimate when being struck through the blood rage passive, though they changed this passive long ago, to extend duration.

Now that they have changed that effect should they not change werewolf hide 5 piece bonus as it no longer reflects the werewolf passive ability to gain Ulti?

Or you know just change the name...

It's interesting to read (although suggestions are incredibly strong) but you made a mistake at the very beginning.
"Hide of the Werewolf" doesn't mean that this set was designed for WWs. It is rather a reference. As well as "Hide of Morihaus" wasn't designed for minotaurs or "Vampire's Kiss" for you know who.
And the set is fine as it is.
    Everything is viable
