Just how big will the Vvardenfell of the upcoming expansion be compared to the 2002 release? I'm just curious 
I've heard that ZOS has taken the same map data from the old game though I'm not sure whether it's true or not. Was hoping to get answers from you guys since looking around google always brings me back to speculative forum posts.

✭As I understand it, they have taken the old map data, but that doesn't we're going to get all of Vvardenfell day one, I think they will spend a good year fleshing out certain parts via DLC's and patched in areas.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭It's probably worth remembering that the 2002 game is not nearly as big as people remember.
I went back last year, with an LOD mod, and was actually pretty surprised to realize how small the map really was. The fog and slow movement speed produced the illusion of a landmass much larger than what actually existed in game.
I kinda think this also happened with Bloodmoon, which is why Dragonborn's version of Solstheim felt so much smaller than the original version.0 -

✭The devs have said that future DLC will not be tied into Morrowind, so I don't think you should expect more content added to it.
As I understand the landmass uses the same height map, but is scaled a bit smaller than the original. How long does it take to walk from Sayda Neen to Vivec in the original? That might be a good way to judge it.0
