QoL: Copy BDO - Remove BoE / BoP?

Wouldn't it be awsome if BoP / BoE weren't even in the game anymore, just like how BDO has it?

BoP could go, but BoE should stay.

And who cares what BDO does? That talk will just get the thread locked. You have a legitimate concern - don't water it down by making comparisons to what other games do.

I just like the fact if you don't need the items anymore you can just resell them back to the public, would stop alot of help spams for accidentally binding something someone didn't want to

BoE is in place to stop items (gear) prices from becoming insanely deflated. If you could sell your old equipment to other players when you're finished with it then such items would be completely devalued and there would be absolutely no place for crafters in the game who want to earn money from crafting gear.

BoP is in place to make you run content that you might otherwise not want to run. There are pros and cons to it, since it's an MMO after all and ZOS wants you to keep playing for as long as possible and as much content as possible, but it can be really tedious and some of the drop rate in the game absurdly low

I don't mind either of them personally since I play and enjoy all kinds of content so it's not a problem for me to run a trial or dungeon or farm TV stones to get what I want. There should definitely be other options though rather than forcing players to do things they literally hate

Dungeon sets i can see being trade able to every one - i ran wgt twice did not get even 1 spc drop and even if i did prob not in the trait i want it's to much of a grind/rng for normal ppl imo it really feels like Diablo 3 launch loot but remove the auction house maybe if they added a token system i would run dungeons more than once now -for the skill point-

Trials no raiders should get them sets only imo

MA/VMA again no that should stay as is

there are thousands of games that do not have BoP / BoE

but i agree, BoP should, well,,, not totally go, but be more situational and exclusive,,, or even if it'll be possible for the same item to drop either BoE (10% chance) or BoP (90% chance)

Leading to an infinite supply, where nothing has any value? And there's no reason to explore/dungeon-run/loot, because all the gear is there already for 20g?

I have to ask... how often does this happen? Accidentally deconstructing something, sure. But accidentally binding? I'd honestly never heard of that complaint until I saw these "BoP must go!" thread on this forum.


Perhaps it's because I grew up with MMOs with BoP/BoE, but these arguments for "nothing should bind! I must be able to sell everything, always!" just don't resonate with me. BoP/BoE just doesn't seem like that big a deal. /shrug

(Thinking about it, ESO is nicer than many other games I've played - you can transfer bound items between your characters using the bank! Most MMOs I've played, "bound" meant "stuck on that one character forever".)

Just farm gold all day and buy and sale used items......sounds like the women in my family who shop and Goodwill every weekend.

Everything except vMA and vDSA weapons (and maybe trial gear) > BoE so you can sell everything else. Then add a token system to all trials done. Vet trial gives 5 tokens, normal gives 2 and you need 200 or something to get a certain item. Numbers can be adjusted ofc.

That way you can sell items you don't need, and at least have a guaranteed way to get what you want after a certain grind. It just makes sense.

BoE is fine, but BoP is horrible. BoP actually discourages me from playing the game, I hate it so much.
