Retired Showcase?

TattdPocahontas
Random wondering... I posted before about outfits no longer in the store, and I wanted to ask: Would you consider a "Retired" type of thing where we could possibly get those outfits & items?
"Who am I... This One does not believe it is necessary to answer such questions when first meeting strange fellows...” *shakes her head in silent contemplation* "This One also believes that such a strange fellow as you should not be poking around in places asking such questions where one does not... belong, yes?”

I doubt it, because there is only one reason for them to retire items, and that's to keep the crown store fresh and interesting. (In their view ... although there are so few items, and they've been there so long, that it doesn't seem so fresh or new anymore.) They're digital items, so don't take up space in a warehouse (obviously). Their line about "having to make room for new items" is the biggest joke in the world. Naw, it's just a marketing gimmick to create artificial scarcity.

So I doubt they'll make a section of the crown store for retired items, because 1) they try to keep people interested in the game by changing the stock once in a while, 2) they want to reserve those retired items as Crown Crate fodder, and 3) if they make a special store section for retired items, they might as well just put the items back up for sale in their original categories and not bother with the "retired section" part.

Technically they do that already, by jamming them in crates.

This is exactly how they justified stuffing old items in crates: they said they heard our requests and are now giving us an opportunity to acquire them again. Be careful what you ask for, I guess.

Yup, most returns are happening via the crates now.

    ^This!^

All things retired will eventually resurface - in some crown crate flavor or another.

I would not be surprised if the currently retired crown crates also get a new revivel (possibly on a seasonal theme... you know, stormies in winter, wild hunt in spring, dwemer in summer, etc.), with more old stuff added, so both newbies who weren't around the last time, AND people who already got all they wanted from them, make ZOS profits by spending crowns on them again.
