"The Pride of a Prince" Quest in Fort Amol, Eastmarch is broken.

The NPC Naryu Virian, that I'm required to speak with, does not spawn during the quest, which prevents me and many others (who I asked in zone chat) from progressing in this quest and the rest of the Eastmarch zone, since the quest is required to complete before I will be able to do quests in Mistwatch and Skuldafn.

I'm not sure if I can progress in Rift, but regarless of that, the quest is essential in Ebonheart Pact storyline, as well as Cadwell's Silver/Gold for other alliances.

After a quick Google search I found out that this quest was broken back in 2015 and was fixed back then, so apparently it has broke after the recent Maintenance.

Please fix it as soon as possible.

Which spawn is not happening? She spawns a couple of times during this quest.

Oh, and you can go on and complete the zone without finishing this quest.

The one, when you need to convince Argonian and Dark Elf delegates

IIRC You can ignore her and do the various parts. If you ask around you will get hints on how to do the one where you have to sneak into the Barracks (find the uniform on the passed out nord under the bridge and the thing about the cat) and the other faction should tell you what you need to do.

Try that.

I know this worked as of a few weeks ago. But, if not, like I said you can skip this one and still finish the zone.

Also, the next part is to go protect or rescue someone. There are no map markers to help you when I last did this quest, so just go up to the gate of the Castle and things should progress

The problem is that you need to know what Dark Elf delegates wants before going into barracks. I can go there and get the disguise from the trunk, but I'm unable to learn that Dark Elf wants the Wine, so it doesn't spawn in the barracks, neither can I use the Cat there.

It's stuck specifically because Naryu doesn't spawn.

Then skip it until they fix it. Instead go up the road and do this quest

I will try to remember to do this quest on one of my character's tonight to see what happens with it.

Also, have you tried the universal quest fixer? Abandon the quest, reload the game, and try it again. Sometimes that makes things work.

The problem is that it requires The War Council to be competed, which itself requires "The Pride of a Prince" to be completed.

Universal Quest Fixer as in usual method of fixing quests, described afterwards, or is this some kind of addon?

I've tried to relog for >15 minutes. I've tried to abandon quest. I've tried to abandon quest and then relog for >15 minutes. Nothing helped.

The quest is broken for more than 24 hours now, and during that, I had a 10 hour break, after which the quest is still broken.

War Council is a side quest. Not part of the Main Quest Chain. In fact, all of Fort Amol's quests are side quests. Which brings up a point, did you do Sleeping on the Job?

However it does not matter, you can still skip all the stages of the main zone quest and go on and finish the last zone main quest and get moved to the next zone. Trust me, I have gone back and done Fort Amol long after doing all the zones in the alliance. More than once in fact.

Also, other than story continuity, now with One Tamriel, there is no quest order to worry about. You can even do them backwards if you want. Actually, you could always do them backwards or out of order since game launch.

Yet it still is required to be done before I can progress further in the Fort Amol questline. You can look it in the Wiki articlce you linked yourself. "The Pride of a Prince" is a Prerequisite for "The War Council", which is a Prerequisite for a "Lifeline"

That's because all quests aside from the Prophet ones are Side Quests. It doesn't mean that they are not part of the Eastmarch quest chain. The "Lifeline" is a Prerequisite for "Eternal Slumber" quest in Mistwatch.

So in order to finish Eastmarch quest chain I need to finish Fort Amol, Mistwatch, Jorunn's Stand and only then will I able to do Skuldafn.

Yes, because it's a prerequisite for "The Pride of a Prince"

Well since "The Pride of a Prince" is the only quest that I can currently do in Eastmarch, I had nothing more to do other than go to Rift, and since the levels are irrelevant in questing, at least there is that.

But it doesn't mean that they shouldn't fix it as soon as possible. Broken quest from the base game, which released 3 years ago is just a bad reputation for the game.

I don't understand how they broke it in the first place. I've completed it with my previous character without any issues or workarounds, and the last reports about it are from 2015.

Was just at this part and there were a bunch of us all stuck at the same point. Game seems to want you to speak to Naryu but she isnt there and the quest pointer is till on the guy who tells you to speak to her.
Asked in the zone and one guy did say it worked for him yesterday but the rest of us couldnt progress at all

OK, Eastmarch has changed since I last followed the story. You have to do this place first (did not used to IIRC as I know I have skipped Fort Amol before).

Anyway, went to Fort Amol on a character that had done no quests in East March. At first I looked for ways to skip it (Mistveil, Joruns Stand), but I could not. Now, since I had not started the story quest, that may have been why. But I could start Fort Amol, so I did. Did the thing with the guard and the house and while going to find the drunk nord, Naryu was there but no quest dialog. Once I dealt with that quest, I did the quest to help the councilars, the one your stuck on. Naryu was there, but I would not have needed to talk to her, could have just picked up the helper item and finished. But I did talk to her and finished up the quest.

But, since you you can't do this quest, I would suggest to ride on into the Rift and do that zone since your stuck in this one.

Your right, they should fix this quest, and I am sure it will be put down as one of those "Fixed Rare Issue that prevents XYZ quest from proceeding" type of things as it worked for me just now (PC/NA for the record). I noticed they fixed the quest marker on the part that comes next, as that was missing for me that last time I did the story in this zone.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Can we get the devs to look at this one and possibly get it fixed in the next patch

I'm on PC/EU and I can assure you, this is not a rare issue.

The thing is, PC/NA server is the only one that did not have the recent 9-hour maintenance, so I can assume they broke it just a couple days ago.

I'm having the same problem. Naryu is missing so there is no way I can continue my quest. I tried those log off 15min, retake the quest or reloadui method the support told me. None of those work.

Please fix this

Seems like they fixed it with the most recent maintenance.

Pretty quick, but lets hope that these problems won't occur in the future.

The support told me to repair the file. Now Naryu show up. Just to let you know so you guys can try that.
