Hi this is my first forum post. Is making a 2 handed sword Templar viable for pve? I really want to make one to sort of re enact a ret paladin (from wow).

Yes, if you build it right and know how to play for effective DPS (though this really applies to everything). It's currently not competitive with a dual wield and bow setup, but it's plenty viable to complete most content. This coming patch should make 2H a bit better of a choice.

Edit: though you should realize that a 2H build will be a stamina build, limiting you on what magicka class abilities you can use for PvE. Essentially, you will be limited to magicka support abilities and stamina damage skills (for your 2H and other weapon). Unfortunately, the only way around this is in order to play a "Paladin"-like class is to go with a Hybrid build, which will probably limit you in effectiveness more than it will probably help for PvE.
