Vampirism through the crown store

Please forgive me for asking a question that may have been answered long ago. I've only started playing eso on xb1 about 2 weeks ago and when doing a forum search on this topic I got so many unrelated returns.

I bought vampirism via crown store (again, just started playing and I had no idea this could be obtained via blood fiend or another player) but the quest doesn't start.

My question, when buying this via crown store, is the quest basically completed?

I'm pretty sure It's just a scroll that starts the quest to become a vampire

Buying from the crown store skips the quest, and is a direct path to vampirism.

^^ when bought from the crown store you do not need to do the quest, as @Reverb said

the vampire skill line takes a little while to level ... it levels much slower at lower levels

I'm too late to save you... I'm sorry.

NEVER BUY BITES THROUGH THE CROWN STORE!!!!!!!!!!!

I say this less because of the cost of crowns versus ease of contracting vamp or WW in game, and more so because it cheats you out of the quest relating to the infection, that provides important lore, etc.

Before ONE TAMRIEL the quest (which is brief and really more about the storyline/lore) could be challenging for lower level players... Now with level scaling in place, it's cake for any level. As such you should NOT want to bypass the very short quest that explains all the background and provides a brief tutorial for your infection type (Vamp or WW). Not only that but you miss out on cool stuff like the vampire shrine, which cannot be otherwise accessed.

Please pass the word and help to advise players to not loose out on a rich part of the gaming experience. I'd actually say it's worth getting cured and getting infected again (all xp points, skill progression is preserved). I'd be willing to recant this if ZOS would simply add the infection for crowns (if they must), and allow players who pay to experience the questline.

I'm XBOX NA, and would be willing to provide a vampire bit for free since you have been cheated by your purchase as I once was.

    QuebraRegra,

I completely agree. It's the quest I've been really looking forward to. I bought the vampire upgrade, had trouble understanding all that it entails in ESO (vs what it was in Skyrim). So I look on youtube and learn you can get it for free.

I was so annoyed. It wasn't written anywhere in the CS description (of course not, it's a business for them). Oh well. It is what it is.

I'm forever stuck and Vampire level 1. I bought the vampire from CS on a new character still in the jail in Coldharbour, so I've been one since the character's inception, yet I'm still at level 1.

This is a little confusing as all my other skills have increased, some between level 15-20. And I use my Vampire active skills at least once per every fight.

I agree, I'll infect/turn for free once I get to Vampire level 6.

    Thanks, though, for your input

YES! The way they crownstore bite is listed is misleading...

IMHO, take it for what it might be worth, but you may want to cure yer vampirism now, and get re-infected at a higher level. The amount of XP required to level the vamp skills is MASSIVE at lower levels, and almost unthinkable in the tutorial phase. There are disadvantages to vampirism (fire damage which is common), and few advantages without progression in the skill line that you will not see for some time to come. You can "manage" your vampire "state" with feeding, but it's a bit of a hassle, basically maintaining yourself at the lowest stage with no real advantages/disadvantages.

As an example of XP required, at level 40, I found that I would get 1 and a half increase in my vampire skill line for every level beyond 40 attained. Maybe someone will help provide a breakdown of what it would be like at lower levels (read painful)
