He kinda did specify when he said the VMA shield, just like if someone said the VMA inferno staff.

Oh right it definitely is similar. Completely forgot about the inferno staff buff you can get in vma that could cause that confusion...
I've just done vma so many times that when I think shield, I immediately think of the buff rather than the crappy item. There's a few posts that talk about when and what buffs to use, but this is the first post I've seen talking about the shield's set so sorry for assuming the more common of the two... (Honestly, I just completely forgot that a shield can drop in vma since it get deconstructed immediately).

The enchantment of vMA weapons is what makes them special, applying a new enchantment would make it like any other non-set drop.
