I am just curious if anyone here feels we should spread character customization across more than the 3 current attributes of Health, Stamina, Magicka?

I am all for more character customization and would like to see more potential builds and play styles come to ESO.
Granting more attributes is one of the best ways to do this without continuing to flood the game with more set bonuses and the like.

Personally I feel that the lack of choice is the largest factor in the player base going full stamina/magicka builds. There is simply no incentive to divide your stats among the two.

If you feel that more attribution customization should or should not be added feel free to share your thoughts.

One of my thoughts I posted in another thread and got me thinking more about it, I'll repost it here:
I personally feel like the issue stems from a combination of only having 3 options and two of the 3 options directly tie to resources/skills. This gives a very straightforward idea of what stats a person wants based on the skills a person uses.

Personally I'd like to see the following, but that's just me.
-Strength: Increases the damage you deal with weapon attacks as well as armor rating. Also allows you to wear heavier armor and weapons.
-Vitality: Increases your amount of life.
-Magicka: Increases the amount of damage done by staves and magicka spells, increases your mana pool by 10 per point. Also allows you to learn more advanced spells.
-Stamina/Dexterity:Increases the amount of damage done by your stamina abilities, increases your stamina pool by 10 per point. Increases attack rating/speed (Light attacks/Heavy attacks). Also allows you to learn more advanced skills.

The addition of strength would give us incentive to spread our points there based on armor type and play style.
The change to Magicka would give players that want a really powerful Magicka ability incentive to use some points in Magicka.
Stamina increases attack rating/speed and earns the same incentive as Magicka as well as already having incentive with sprint/block being tied to Stamina.

I would even be open to adding more than just strength, I am all for customization.

Here is another post from @Faulgor that I really liked about the topic.

I do not want more attributes. I want to keep Stamina, Magicka, and Health as the only attributes.

I think that's entirely dependent on your playstyle. Plenty of players have hybrid builds, but they're not min/maxers participating competitively.

I think the problem with increasing the number of attributes is that while those players don't need any more attributes, the more competitive players would still be told/aware of the optimum attributes and the rest would be disregarded. I'm not sure therefore that it would achieve anything. Of course, there's also the whole TES IP to think of and that is based very much on the present attributes.

@Tandor there would be "optimal" setups sure, but there would be hundreds of more possible setups to make "optimal" than what we have today, and even then that is very subjective and will vary vastly based on your build and play style. Some may want more strength to wear a different armor type, some may want more attack speed for using light/heavy attacks more often, also again strength would be the most basic one and it would force people away from spending all their attributes in one place, where health can not.

The idea isn't to "solve" the problem of people using cookie-cutter builds, that is impossible to do in a game in this day and age, but this would make it a lot better imo.

as far as people building hybrids go, of course some people are building hybrids, but I am willing to bet that the large majority primarily play toward one strength or the other.
