Best Class for Ashlander?

Im not typically a roleplayer but for Morrowind I want to play a true Dark Elf Ashlander. Would love to go with Staff/Bow.

What do you think would be best? I dont min/max much.

Sorcerer or Nightblade? I would most likely have an Inferno staff for the fire bonus later on but would not mind grabbing a bow sometimes. This would make things tough as I would need to go either Magic or Stamina.

Suggestions?

Dragonknight. You get to use both staff and bow and the dark elf racial bonus is great for a magicka dragonknight.

My choices are Sorcerer or Nightblade. If you had to pick between those two, who would you pick?

Sounds like a cool build. I was thinking dragon knight as well.

Why would Dragonknight be any more effective as a Staff/Bow build than another class? Doesn't staff/bow contradict?

I think sorceror makes a better hybrid build, but none are particularly good so just go with w/e class you like the style/feel of better

If you're going to intentionally shoot yourself in the foot by having a Magic & Stamina Weapon build, then first you need to decide which of those weapons you'll be doing the most fighting with, then spend your Attribute points accordingly so you're not too disadvantaged.

But with a Staff and Bow, and from your two options, I'd say Sorcerer, with a leaning toward a StamSorc.

I could see this working as a Nightblade.

Remember that Morrowind brings new crafted sets for hybrid builds as well op.

If you are making a Dunmer for the purpose of roleplaying a Ashlander, then it doesn't really matter what class you pick. Class doesn't really effect your roleplaying, all it does is effect the combat situations of your roleplaying.

Now if you are actually going to focus on combat and not really roleplaying. Then you should go for a Sorcerer or a Dragon Knight and focus on flame abilities as the Dunmer has a racial passive that makes their flame abilities stronger.

Ashlander... can be any class. Most will be stamina builds anyhow, meaning they get their main stuff through weapon skills... so the class is more a question of flavor. If you are set on nightblade-vs-sorceror, both would be applicable, though the sorceror maaaaybe a bit more tending for wisewoman (which would be the one ashlander with a pure magica build anyhow, but also tending towards templar and warden once that becomes available with Morrowind), while the nightblade more like clan scout or something...
Dragonknight would of course be perfect for ashlanders, due to "fire magic" to supplement their living in the, well, ashlands. And templar as healer is always a good thing.

The staff/bow combi is more of an issue, since staff is magica, and bow stamina build. If you want to be playing an ashlander warrior (which most of them are, their nomadic lifestyle not being all too supportive of shaman-type magica builds), you may want to go with a bow/melee setup, either dual wield, or two handed, and medium armor. That's what I'd play if I wanted to be ashlander. And in this case... nightblade invisibility would be perfect for a "scout" character...

I would have chosen nightblade, but we're pretty much dead so for YOUR sake I'll say Sorc
