As far as crafted sets go, Hunding's is probably still your best bet.

I'd recommend a magicka sorc or Templar if you have one. You can actually get very close to BiS just from crafted and dungeon drops.

I run Julianos/BSW/Grothdar or Skoria on Magplar and switch the monster helm to Lambris on Sorc.

Can do VMA, Hard Mode trials, and carry lowbies through DLCs with those sets.

I cleared VMA on my Magplar in purple gear the first time running that set-up.

If you really want to run Stam and grind for VO or Serpent set, I had a Hundings/Leviathan/Veledreth Stamblade which was more than adequate for all dungeons and normal trials.

But it was definitely worse than my magicka builds. I'd strongly recommend spending 5 hours and grinding up a magicka toon.

Creafted gear will cost you more than non crafted.

Go browse the guild stores and look for good sets armor pieces in bad traits - they are very cheap.

Briarheart for example it is a good pve set and cheap.
Spriggans is good too but more expensive.
Agility jewelery in bad traits is very cheap too.
Then head + shoulder monster set will drop in no time (google it for more info)

Also get some daggers that have a damage bonus for 2 pieces set (you can use the helm and shoulders of the same set until you get your proper monster set).

And you are good to go farming your end game gear!

Go 5 Night Mother's Gaze (craftable)
3 agility for jewellry and the other pieces hunding. As weapons use dual wield and bow.
All medium or maybe one piece heavy .
This build is enough to farm veteran dungeons and normal trial. Use surprise Attack as spammable and keep ur dot up. I suggest u to follow the stamblade guide of jeckII or gilliamtherogue.
    Cheers

NMG is a beautiful set and IMHO is really worth in gold, i use it often instead of TFS for vMA and trials when the group need It. The weapons must be gold.

They are below 1k a piece in a bad trait.

But man go fix your gold problem first. Do some main quests first in any gear. Loot the mat nodes. Sell set items you pickup and don't need etc.

The cheapest gear you find in stores is 200 a piece that is good only to be deconstructed. I'd say you need at least 20k in your pocket to start looking for gear - crafted or not.

5nmg/hunding + 5 spriggan, great for non trial, sub optimal, or solo setups. Could sustain 20-25k solo on an Argonian stam sorc with it. Sorc was hunding have room for 1-2 pc monster set depending on 2h or dw

just like everyone else has stated, night mothers, Hundings and spriggans.
A great combo that is cheap is 2 Hundings daggers and 3 armor pieces (craftable). Then 3 spriggans jewelry and 2 armor pieces. You can shop around and get that stuff cheap if you go with blue jewelry.
For normal dungeons and trials you will be fine with that combo.

In terms of a crafted 5-piece, your two real options are Night Mothers and Hundings. NM is better than hundings, assuming nobody else is running it in your group. The 5 piece doesnt stack. Considering your gear farm will likely consist mainly of trials (if talking PVE DPS) for Twice Fanged and Vicious Ophidian, I would probably go Night mother as there just arent a lot of stamina builds out there running trials these days. In four man stuff (really only for your monster set), the chances of being paired with another stamina DPS running NM is even smaller.

I would start with NM weapons, as there is nothing wrong with making them gold (sharp daggers and bow), and 3 pieces of armor (not head and shoulders). I would then buy agility jewelry (robust), leaving 4 pieces left on your body. If you have a monster set, go ahead and use it, otherwise, you could craft either 4 hundings (more DPS) or 4 morkuldin (more sustain). I wouldnt bother making these gold as they will be the first things your replace. You will replace two pieces with a monster set and the other two with something like VO.

Starting settup is 5 hundings / 5 spriggan change from divines to impen for pvp. Craft out weapons so u dont have to buy them, 1 sword 1 axe (or dagger) for pve.
Take a few days and farm the spriggan gear in bangkorai urself, u may make some friends, money, and ur pvp set in the process. Save helm/shoulder slots for later on when u get monster sets. Velidreth is best, keep an eye out on the weekend pvp vendor if it pops. GL
