Please define "loyal player" in your own words.

I see many posts about "loyal players", upset or leaving and complaining.

That does not sound like my definition of "loyal", it sounds like rats jumping ship.

What is your definition of "loyal player"?

Thank you,

Floki

For me if you're going to talk about being a loyal player it means you stick with the game even during the bad (like these changes), some people seem to think just being subbed a long time or dropping a lot of cash makes them loyal.

I'm not loyal, I quit the game for six months although my Sub was still going, so I could be loyal under some peoples views.

People who have been here since the beginning from the Closed Beta like me, and others from Early Launch who have stayed with the game since then.

The reason many are annoyed is that ZOS continues to cater towards racking in new players and filling up the Cash Shop rather than focusing on things that have been problems for a long time meaning long term or "loyal" players lose faith that they ever will show this issues real attention.

The players that stay here through the good and bad times . They don't have to be kissing any corporate booty either . It's the ones that weather out the storms that enjoy the good parts even more .

if that definition holds - adds a whole lot of leeway to the term: loyal...

Loyal players can decide they don't like a change and leave. It doesn't mean they were not local.

However, a loyal player is something of little value to Zos since anyone can play the game free after the initial purchase.

It's the loyal customer and topping that list is the loyal subscriber that matter most to Zos when it comes to the players they want to regain.

I think it's a subjective term for all people. But, my view would be one that sticks around, even when the game is broken, has unfair nerfs, or content just isn't that great. I wouldn't say a player that's only able to play a day or two a week isn't loyal, because they have real life obligations they need to handle first, which are more important.

A good example of a loyal player is one who's played since around launch, when there were tons of issues going on with it. Going on the forums or zone chat, regardless of time/money spent, and complaining about the game, while ignoring all it's pros, makes you disloyal.

I think you can call yourself a loyal player if you've never rage quit.

But I don't believe the people who rage about being loyal players in their rage quit threads would agree with me.

Every time you see someone state they're a loyal player, replace the word "loyal" with "entitled".

It'll put the post in an entirely new, and accurate, perspective.

I have been here since the beginning. I could not participate in the beta, but I have been subbed from the beginning. I have been here through the good and the bad. I learn from the patch changes and adapt. I may have taken a break from the game here and there, but it was not due to any state of the game. Just the state of my life. Either moving, busy with work, or busy with relationships. But while I was away on those little breaks, I was still subbed as I had every intention on being here and coming back. I preordered Morrowind as soon as it was available (the digital upgrade collectors edition) and even paid for the dlcs even though I am ESO+ to help give them more moral and financial support. Are there things I don't like about the game? Sure. You can't please everything from everyone. But when I do come across something that I do not like, I do not go on the forums and whinge about it.

All this might be extreme for some people. Their Idea of loyalty might just simply be to remain subscribed. Or just to log on everyday. What I do is how I show my loyalty. And in the past, I did get rewarded for it. My striped senche tiger mount would like some words if possible.

Hi Bethesda, I am a very loyal player, I know everything about the oblivion series. I've even been here since way back at the launch of oblivion on Xbox. I've spent loads of time and, heh, well money on everything oblivion related. I even bought fallout: new vegas even though it wasn't my favourite in the series.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that the recent natch potes (see what I did there, heh) made me very sad. And since deltia was upset also I must really know what I'm talking about. I levelled a Templar to be a healer and now he won't be the best healer he can be because the warden is coming with ESO 2 and he will probably, maybe, be an even better healer. I guess I will have to level another character up to 24 like my main. Well, I hope you can change the changes back so as not to change the way I play currently. Thanks.

I think I would be described as loyal. I'm a subscriber in England and although it was my choice to play on NA (to join a friend who is in Australia) Monday maintenance effectively means I can't play for most of the day, ie this Monday it was down from 8am to 8pm my time so I am paying for seven days but only able to play on six which doesn't make me happy. However, I can't cancel my sub, the thought of losing access to the mat bag is too hideous to contemplate lol. I can't go back to having my mats spread over 5 or 6 alts.

Ive always seen a loyal player as one that doesnt leave because their favourite build gets nerfed to oblivion and adapts to the game while also supporting the developer by subscribing and buying extras (dlc, crowns, etc). When people say they are a loyal player but are leaving because of X reason they are really saying they have been loyal up till that point and this is the change that makes them feel they can no longer support the developer and/or can no longer enjoy playing. Loyalty is a non permenant state of mind and we require constant reassurance to keep it going
