Did it get changed?

Also, defiling is so niche in PVE that it wouldn't surprise me if ZOS made an oversight as it concerns defiled status on bosses.
Major/Minor Defile definitely works on Bogdan the Lameflame in Elden Hollow for a mega fast kill. As a Stamplar tank I bust out my Dark Flare for that fight.
I certainly would assume the same will be true for Drodda.
Be ready to CC A$AP because when the boss does that is when the boss gets their health back up. If you can manage to break out really fast you should be fine(make sure and tell the group that, some random can just stay CC'd and the boss will get a lot of health back). No BS I solo'd it on my magplar healer once when my group left during the middle of the fight...the CC part is vital, magplar is amazing in pve..for now.

Yeah, definitely a case of needing quick reactions. I only ever do this one with guildmates when it's a pledge due to past frustrations with group finder teams just not getting it I was only asking about the Defile from a mechanical viewpoint. Awesome to hear you soloed it, must have been a bit of a slog!
