Random Daily Dungeon still failing if grouped

I used to enjoy doing random dailies with my hubs and friends, but for some time now if anyone is already grouped when they queue for a random daily, the group gets removed from the dungeon immediately after porting in.
I know this has been discussed for some time on Reddit, hoping that if I post here we might get some response about whether this is deliberate (since it still isn't fixed) - to force us to do random dailies only with strangers for some reason? Perhaps so that there are more experienced players in groups as reluctant mentors for the many newbies queuing for dungeons at lvl12?
