Mounts Faster Than 60%

My mount (horses, lions, etc.) have been at 60% for well over a year now. I was under the impression that 60% was as fast as you could get your horse to go. However, I've noticed lately that several Champ 600 players are WAAAAYYYY faster than I am. How is it that their horses are so much faster than mine?

And, though rarely used, there is a PvP set which gives a bonus to mounted speed.
The generally amicable yet sporadically salty magplar that may or may not have 1vXed you in Sotha Sil. Who knows?

Thanks for your knowledge. Since I suck at PvP I guess I'll have to live with 60%.

Rapids, Cyrodill ward set, Steed mundus (not sure if affects steed speed), Jailbreaker.
    Enjoy

You need absolute 0% PVP to get rapid maneuver, the assault skill line to have +30% run and mounted speed.

    1. Get to level 10 on any char - this is without hyperbole 'easy peazy'

    2. Goto cyrodil - bring up campaign window, pick any campaign as home or guest, select to enter

    3. Soon as you enter, either right in front of you or very close by is the NPC offering 'Welcome to Cyrodil' quest. Do the 3 min tutorial fetch/learn steps or head straight for the 'I don't need to relearn this stuff and gimme reward' option and you are done. Bam - 2 free skill points plus enough AP to auto boost you to rank 2 of PVP and earn rapid maneuver unlock

That is it, 1-2-3, few minutes even if you do the tutorial quest - barely 30 seconds if you just accept then turn in quest with skip option.

That's cool!! Will give it a try. Thanks.

The cyrodil ward set. Rapid Maneuver and the war mount passive in the green tree(s) of CP.

Stacking all that and you will go absurdly fast.

Thanks for your knowledge. Since I suck at PvP I guess I'll have to live with 60%.

You get it unlocked from doing the intro quest which takes 5 mins.

You also get 2 skill points.

    Cheers!

Yeah my mounts are inconsistent stumblers at best but put rapids on and woosh it's fantastic so smooth like levitation but it takes up a slot and it's not cheap Zoe should halve the cost imo

I've decided to stick with my 60%. I need the skill points elsewhere. I hope we can all go above 60% in the future as the game evolves. I forgot that I already had "Rapid Maneuver" but have never used it as I don't have enough skill points to spare. The only way I can get more skill points is to play group dungeons in Craglorn or Cyradil. Since I'm not a member of a group, those points are out of my reach.

Just go in and do the introductory quests and it will level up your AvA line enough to get the skill.

Something you can try immediately, and this I read in a dev comment (ty for that!) is "pumping" your SHIFT key, or which ever is your sprint key. It gives a short boost in speed, but also uses up the mount's stam quicker.

Yes, Shift (default keybinding on PC) is for sprinting. While mounted, you use your horse's stamina when sprinting, rather than your own, which lets you recover your own stamina to keep casting Rapid Maneuvers (or a morph) every 30-ish seconds.
Note that you should train up your horse stamina to 60 as well, if it's not there already.

I strongly recommend putting the skill point in to unlock Rapid Maneuvers. It is an amazingly useful skill. Go get more skyshards or respec to free up skill points from other weapon skills that you are not using.

I'm using Xbox One so I simply push down on the left toggle. I have a huge amount of riding stamina so I can run full speed for as long as I want.

Wind Running Passive: The Lover 120 Points invested bonus: +2% Movespeed
The Steed Mundus Stone: +5% Movespeed => +8% with all divines and divines shield
Jailbreaker Set: Minor Expedition (+10% Move Speed)
Ward of Cyrodiil Set: +15% Mounted Speed
    Rapid Maneuver : +30% Movespeed

For a grand total of +65% Movespeed on top of your mount speed. And assuming that sprint bonuses don't do anything for mount sprints.

Jailbreaker may not increase mount speed. I do not know for certain, but by looking at major expedition buff it seems most sources only increase the characters speed and does not increase mount speed. Rapid Maneuvers specifically states it also increases mount speed while the magika version of Sorc Lightning form does not seem to affect mount speed even while the major expedition buff is still active.

I do this on every character as soon as they hit level 10 so I don't have to deal with a dreadfully slow horse.
