Argonians...it bothers me

I mean, argonians are no mammals...

their female lay eggs..their baby don't even drink milk then why do they have "that"?

their male,,,well if you know your biology, crocs' "manly thing" is hidden in the body unless they are mating........I donno...just feel weird thinking about this

Argonians need hist sap when they are young to be an Argonian, if a hist tree is not around (read dunmer slavers), then the mother can breast feed the hatchlings.

it is more like half and half hist milk, real hist sap is better than hist milk. Hist sap / milk does NOT make argonian high because they have a special connection to the Hist tree. The other races is a different story...

They are magically engineered by trees... I recall some mention that they might actually be tree people who just look like lizards. Hell, one lore book talks about how they are in fact cold blooded, and yet aren't bothered by the cold regardless of that fact.


Oh yeah, and IIRC they can give live birth if needed.

I'm bothered by the same thing, especially after shadowfen quests. which is why my argonian is flat chested and flat hipped. at least character creator allows for that

Argonian females may develop breasts for sexual selection.
Many animals have body parts that serve no purpose beyond attracting a mate. However, it's a very important purpose because if the female is chosen for procreation because of whatever trait was deemed desirable, that trait may be passed down to the offspring. That means that more successful traits will continue to develop in future generations and less desirable traits will be naturally selected out.

Funny you mention this, OP. The other day I tried to make a female argonian character, but then I couldn't do it because the idea of breasts on a lizard was just disturbing lol...ended up making a male instead, it's slightly less disturbing.

I think that the hist tree deciced to give argonians more human traits so the other races wouldn't feel as uncomfortable around them. If they are made to look more like the other races I imagine it would be easier for them to relate to argonians and therefore treat them better. They are still treated very poorly, imagine how much worse the other races would treat them if they looked like a T-rex with human sized arms.

It doesn't make much sense lorewise for such diverse races to share the same bodyshape and animations. And at least in Morrowind (idk about Daggerfall and Arena) Khajiits and Argonians used to be more different from the other races (eg. no breasts on females), which i actually prefer to the uniform races of newer Elder Scrolls games.

It is just less work for the developers to use the same model for all races, which is the main (only?) reason, why the races ended up like they are now. Not much lore behind it.

But.

Chickens have breast meat.... and *technically* they are reptiles. Also Argonians can grow feathers. So maybe they have chests without ***...... eugh this topic is really horrible lol

It's a common design issue in many fantasy/sci-fi things.

Because it's designed by humans, for humans. And human visual-recognition cues. Curvy-shape = female. So, to make 'female' whatevers obvious to the human consumers of the media, they give them boobs & hips. Even if it doesn't make "sense" from a science & biology standpoint.

It bothers me too so much so I rerolled to a male - as a lizard with lumps most likely has a nasty cyst.

I have lizards and snakes and I even breed pythons so does my brother in law different species. the girls not only lack breasts but are bigger than the boys in general.
some males reptiles are larger you hear of crocs etc but in with reptiles the females who carry eggs are usually larger of the two even if it's only slight. I always worry about the boy snakes with mating as they are loved pets and I fear the girls will kill them. they don't but they could as the females are much bigger girth and stronger, Fortunately that's not on there mind - and the males are not choosy or selective at all. I aware they would mate with a garden hose in breeding season if let. it's not them they have no standards. The girls are choosy, it takes time as you have to get the female to like the male.

So given the females smaller or same sise as males with argonians, that the female has breasts and can lactate and as the female lays eggs... I think argonians must be monotremes as they are more like spinny echidnas than lizards or reptiles.

I can't remember if female Khajiit had breasts or not, but i'm 100% sure, female Argonians didn't had them in unmodded Morrowind. There are some body and clothing mods that would add them though.
