High health MagSorc?

Hello, new player here.

I'm curious if there's any interesting potential in running a higher health magsorc for PvP. I've seen a few abilities that seem to scale from the health pool, and I wonder if there's any interesting and viable space to leverage those bonuses plus a higher health pool for PvP?
I'm trying to find a gimmick to make a MagSorc slightly utilize the Orc racials, as I'm nearly cp160 and will start PvPing. Or if you have ideas that aren't related to health pool, but do interface with orc racials, that'd help too.

I fully understand that this far from optimal. But I chose Orsimer, and I will not go stamina. Not interested. Them's the ground rules, and I'm gonna make the best of it.
My goal is *not* to have a theoretical winner in white-room duels. I'm content to run something that's survivable and versatile in practice, and has a thing or two to contribute in a fight.

As I'm new, I don't have access to high end gear. If gearing comes up, what would be particularly helpful would be the mechanical intent, rather than only talking in terms of specific items.

Thank you for your thoughts on the matter!

You are going to be sad once you realize you wasted time making a character that is unable to do any content. You will do no damage and hp does not ensure survival in pvp, just adds a couple of seconds to the burst required to kill you.

Puh... In all my humble little PvP time I once saw an high health "mag" sorc, 40K health. He was equipped with a staff and Sword 'n Shield. He was using Boundless Storm, probably more for the speed and the resistance than the DoT. Absorption Field and Overload for the third bar.

Can't tell which set he was using bc he was wearing a costume. But he wasn't using pets. Also can't see if it was Destro or Resto. Probably frost staff bc of the tanking passives.

My guess is he was just some sort of hybrid tank, utilizing the staff and magskills for utility rather than damage. Problem is you sacrifice a lot of offense and defense capabilities when you raise your health in trade of magicka. Shields are strong right now, especially in combination with the pirate skeleton monster set. But your overall shield strength would suffer from low ressources. While having a small stam pool also hinders you blocking, dodging and breaking free.

The only 3 things you would gain from this is the utility, the ability to drain 2 pools (and therefor need lower regen) and the higher Implosion dmg (afaik it scales with health).

IF you still wan't to go for it, you should probably use plague doctor as main set to gain 8K set health + heavy armor passives. But I wouldn't advise going high health mag sorc. It may seems interesting but at least I can't see any use to it. Maybe someone else can. If someone has any idea, I'd be interested to see.

    EDIT:
While you wouldn't do much damage to anyone you could contribute a bit of (de-)buffs and crowd control to your group. But in solo situations you'd probably be damned. If you go Ice Staff + SnB you can use Frost Clench/Reach, Icy Rage and Mines for immobilization, Restraining Prison for Immo + Snare, Frost Wall and Caltropz for Snare, Rune for disorientation, defensive stance, streak and familiar for stuns.
But again, you could do the same with higher damage and higher shields if you utilize more of the other resources.

If you do go high health - be sure to enchant all your jewelry with weapon or spell damage. Consider armor sets that give weapon/spell damage (like clever alchemist). Maybe use mundus that gives weapon / spell damage. Also, Orzaga's food is a source of health and sustain. Good luck.

Templars are the ones with great potential for high health builds as one of their class skills, Blazing shield, not only scales with stamina but reflects the damage done at the attackers, thus allowing to do damage while defending yourself at the same time. But even that build is pretty gimmicky, it's sacrificing a lot to basicaly just make that one skill effective.

There's Bone Shield in the UD tree which is kind of similar to Blazing(especially with one of its morphs) but it costs stamina and you mentioned that's not the route you like. I'm afraid there aren't really (m)any options for a magsorc health build, at least none that come to mind:/ As it is, most of a magsorc' strength in PvP comes from stacking magicka and using shields to defend yourself(because my, are you going to be squishy with that setup) while using Streak for mobility and a combo of certain spells(crystal frags, mage's fury, haunt curse - to name a few) for damage at the same time.

Good luck though, and do let us know if you manage to come up with something :)
