Stamina Nightblade

I am currently leveling a bosmer stamblade (lvl 9) with bow.
So far leveling/questing is a breeze.
Most of the mobs die before they even reach me.
But I have heard stam NB is one of the worst classes to level in ESO.
So I am just curious at what range does it become painful to level and what do folks usually do ?.
The reason why I ask (instead of actually finding it out by myself) because I can start building the weapon/skill tree earlier.

Low level content is easy, try and keep one of each skill type on each bar. You can put 2h skills on your bow bar, and vice versa. Eventually you will need to pick and choose later

Bow is ok for early levels. You'll want to pick up a melee build when you get your second weapon slot. (I'd recommend dual wield). There's some nice self-healing abilities in that line. Bow starts getting hard when you're fighting multiple elites at the same time. You'll get those when you start doing solo quests (Sheogorath and prophet questline).

Stamblade doesn't get bad if you pay attention to your skills and use them. You are not a templar who can level with your one button aoe dps/heal.

But you do have several skills that heal on kill. So the key is finding those skills in the trees and using them. They are usually if so and so dies while affected or within so long you get blah health back. Or finding a weapon that has healing attacks. Or both.

You can also spend some time in pvp and get vigor which can be useful.

    that is correct.

best advice i can give about us stamblades is this ...

"if you can handle dying allot in both PvE and PvP, and always being pulled out of stealth in pvp and then killed, but willing to put up with that and still do fair and able to kill once you understand the ropes. then yeah, you'll be alright."

Stamblade could use some improvements, but I still love playing mine.

Question: Do you expect to be in the top 1%? If not ... don't worry about it. If you are having fun, play it.

As you advance in level you just do a combo to increase your bow damage: Rearming trap - Arrow barrage - light attack - poison injection - light attack / swap weapon / gap closer - mop up with aoe. I always use a bow bar to "soften up" targets before moving in to mop up what's left.

But also before I made CP I used the bow as a way to keep my distance from hard-hitting bosses that could one-shot kill me. Tat was before level scaling, though when I was doing content above my level.

The advantage of Bosmer NB is that there are two DLC's that are kind of specifically designed for you (Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood). There is massive "sneak n peek" content in both.

True, in PvP you will probably never be able to fight "toe to toe" against other races - your PvP play style as a bosmer NB will have to be "Hid-hit-run"

Another truth - you might face some discrimination in groups with tryhard strangers - so try to find people who are cool to play with and do dungeons with.

To quickly answer the damage and survivability question: It kind of gets progressively worse as you level but MUCH better when you hit around 40 and higher. (Then drops again for a while at around 100 CP till 160 CP)

There are a loooooooooooooot of very very very bad spoonfed people who REFUSE to put enough time into their stamblades and work to actually get good. And those are the ones describing Stamblades as THE worst. Most of the time anyway.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THOSE PEOPLE! The way the game currently works makes this worse as everyone uses the logic of MAX DAMAGE > EVERYTHING.

    I mean....

Yes, you can't make the top 1% as a stamblade, yes you can't top the charts, yes you will NOT be the most amazing player in the game. BUT, you'll still make the top of the 99%! If you try hard enough. ;)

Stamina NBs are, imo, the most enjoyable and versatile out of all (except self healing until you get Vigor). As a stamblade you'll have access to so many things and be always having fun. (Just gotta survive the horrible leveling lol). It's just a difficult class to master. However, If you spend a lot of time and focus learning your class and survive the horrible pain of going through this process, I can promise you that you WILL LOVE this class. It's not even difficult once you master it, it's actually pretty easy.

I've seen people do wonders with them and I'm slowly progressing to that point myself.

Also, word of advice: DO NOT ASK PEOPLE FOR COOKIE CUTTER BUILDS OR SKILLSETS (Or anything in that sense in particular.) Always ask questions that discuss things in general, not directly and specifically. Build your own class, do your own reserach, trust me you'll have a lot more fun that way. Now, don't take it wrong, getting help from others is great, and copying other people's builds/skillsets to get started is great as well! Just don't stick to 1 build you've seen somewhere and be done with it.

PS: We are one of the most annoying and hated classes in PVP if played right. People will rage for hours if ganked properly. We just aren't warriors, we're stealthy rogues in PVP.:blush::wink:

PPS: Send me your ingame name in a PM if you need a stamblade buddy  (Note that I'm on NA)

If you wanna be the best at anything in this game roll magicka, stamina gets circumsized further into the ground every patch.

Don't discourage him, it's not even true. Why do you people always judge based on max damage or best performance is beyond me :/ It should be fun in the first place.

It is true. Stats prove it. Subjective polls support it. Being the worst performing class in a competitive MMO game kinda dampens the fun a little bit,...yes? Epeen is real in PVE and unless you meta, PVP will be frustrating as heck for his NB. I love stam NB and won't change him as my main, but if you don't have a stubborn streak and would be demoralized playing the 4th best class then choose another class.

Level it to max level and play a little endgame content and if you still like it that's good, if not, roll different one but you will still have basic knowledge about a class and it's mechanics which is very helpful in pvp.

I love playing mine, in both PVE and PVPm but fearing the worst looking at the patch notes. The removal of stealth attack damage bonus, removal of feat reduction champ skills, lowering of champ regen rate and increased cost of vigor is going to hurt a lot :(

You know that's ONLY for PvP, right? Racial and class bonuses will remain though in PvP. I'm not too worried about the other changes right now.

Yep I know its for pvp but since I've finished all the solo quests ages ago and done the dungeons loads of times, pvp is mostly what I play. After I finish playing through the morrowind content I'll come back to pvp just worried about what I'm going to find then! Running out of stamina and doing less damage doesn't sound like too much fun. My only hope is that every other class has been nerfed even worse than mine so I have a chance!
