Could anybody possibly tell me the difference between the 2 sides, whats more useful between maxing out hardy and elemental Armour, vs medium Armour focus and spell shield.

Depending on your current armor value, sometimes adding 1-10 points only gets you a 2% increase in mitigation whereas the same points in hardy/ele expert gets you 5% dmg mitigation.

After 10 points in straight armor, it's a waste since you'll never even reach 10% reduction (and need to use 100 points) whereas 27 points in both hardy/ele expert would easily get you that sweet 10% reduction.

Also if you use a magicka shield for defense, hardy/thick skin/ele expert/whatever gives percentage on dmg reduction is calculated before shields. So on paper, your Shield will be stronger since it won't be taking the full tooltip dmg of a player or the dmg of a pve mob.

Armor can be debuffed. Dmg reduction can only be countered with dmg increases.

If you put 58 points into Hardy, you'll get a 17% dmg mitigation against all physical dmg sources. That means an attack on you is reduced by 17%. For pve, hardy/elemental defender are better, since pve mobs cannot (as far as I know) increase their dmg to counter your reduction.

If you put 100 points in light armor focus, you'll only get a 9% dmg reduction on physical dmg. That's a waste of champion points. And if in PvP, the attacker had sharpened traits, they can remove 8% of your reduction easily.

    Makes sense?
