Unfortunately on the consoles it is not possible to command summoned pets to attack a specific target, like it is on the PC. This takes out a lot of the reliability of running pet builds in any form of end-game content. It renders an entire sorceror tree pretty much ineffective since your pets just stand around aimlessly or attack some random minion instead of attacking your target. This has really hampered a lot of my enthusiasm for the incoming Warden class as well. I'm not sure if I'll even pick it up since they, like sorcerors, have a lot of focus on using your pets together with your other attacks.
There is such a simple-seeming solution I'm not sure why it's not been considered - why can't your pets be commanded using toggle targeting? If anyone is wondering, you can press down R3 on PS4 to highlight a particular target to attack, and can then see them if they go behind cover etc. When I first started playing a pet build I assumed that this would also lock the pet onto that target since it makes intuitive sense, but I was disappointed to find out it does not.
Any ETA on this, please?
